104w ago - Today Sony's associate brand marketing manager Crystal MacKenzie has confirmed that PS Vita PSN accounts are linked to the handheld's memory cards and not the device itself for those wondering.
Essentially this means those who like bringing their gamer profile and downloadable games over to a friends house to show them off will probably like the PlayStation Vita since the PSN accounts are bonded to the memory card they're downloaded to.
To quote from GameInformer.com (linked above): "Your PSN ID is bonded to your memory card and your memory card is bonded to your Vita," Sony associate brand marketing manager Crystal MacKenzie told Wired.
"So if you wanted to change different PSN users but use the same memory card, you would need to go factory reset."
So accessing your PSN account and games is as easy as swapping out the memory card they're installed on. Sounds simple enough. If you have too much media for one of Sony's spendy storage devices, you can have your PSN account linked to multiple memory cards.
One question I have is how often do you think you'll be swapping out memory...
104w ago - Following up on the previous article and update for the 3.73 JailBreak, today Sony PlayStation 3 Hacker KaKaRoToKS has confirmed it is safe to update to PS3 Firmware 4.00 for those planning to use the exploit when it is released.
Below are some recent Tweets from him, as follows:
FYI, tested yesterday and the jailbreak still works on 4.0 so it's safe to upgrade (for those on 3.73)
Just got my progskeet today. Thanks uf6667 for sending it! It's so small!
Not much new to go on at the moment, but keep in mind the upcoming PlayStation 3 exploit will not enable PS3 backup managers such as multiMAN or Rogero as it does not include support for modifying Peek and Poke for lv1 and lv2 as outlined in the FAQ...

To quote: This afternoon on stage at the Web 2.0 Summit in San Francisco, I shared some very exciting news that I know the PlayStation Nation has been anticipating since we unveiled PlayStation Vita back in January.
For those looking to get their hands on the ultimate in handheld entertainment, I'm thrilled to let you know that starting on February 22, 2012, PS Vita will be available at major retailers in the United States, Canada, Latin America, and Europe.

113w ago - Sega of America Associate Brand Manager Aaron Webber has confirmed today alongside a video trailer that Yakuza: Dead Souls on PS3 is heading to the US.
To quote: Greetings Sony fans and Yakuza enthusiasts! Today is an exciting day, both for PS3 gamers and for us here at SEGA - the PS3 exclusive, Yakuza: Dead Souls is coming to the west!
It seems like only yesterday we were all sitting on the edge of our Sony-branded seats, hoping desperately that Yakuza 3 would see the light of day overseas. In the years since, we've seen not only the US release of Yakuza 3, but Yakuza 4, too - and, thanks to the fantastic support of fans and PS3 gamers like you, we're proud to now announce the latest chapter in the Yakuza franchise. What was once Of The End is now Dead Souls!
So, what is Yakuza: Dead Souls all about? I traveled to the top of the mountains and spent two weeks meditating to bring you the answers. In the end, that failed, so I just played the entire game instead.
It was awesome, and in doing so, I found that this game is a mix of:
• Zombies in Tokyo
• Yakuza with guns
• Beautiful Hostesses
And while I'm not able to reveal how much content from the Japanese version is coming over,...
114w ago - Sony Online Entertainment (SOE) Executive Director of Business Development Chris Sturr has confirmed today that Payday: The Heist is set to launch later this month on PSN.
To quote: Word on the street is that to pull off the biggest score, a heist must be planned and outlined to the very last detail with perfect team members, unbeatable weapons and unrecognizable disguises.
That being said, SOE & OVERKILL Software need a little more time to assemble the ideal squad and attack strategy for our highly anticipated adrenaline-pumping first person shooter, PAYDAY: The Heist.
With this in mind, SOE and the talented OVERKILL team have decided to push PAYDAY's official launch day to later in October, ensuring the overall game quality and potential score for all heist team members.
Not a PAYDAY crew member yet and hoping to get in on the loot? SOE has extended PRE-ORDERS - which have been excellent to date - to gather an even larger body of potential crew to co-operate with at launch!
For our established crew members, PAYDAY will still be awarded to those who purchased all four PSN titles in our inaugural PlayStation Network PLAY event, according to the terms of that program.
