Capcom to Announce New Titles at Tokyo Game Show 2009

277w ago - The Tokyo Game Show is the biggest gaming convention in Japan. Many Japanese companies use it as an opportunity it to give the latest updates on their video games in addition to making new game announcements.

Capcom is already teasing what they will be revealing at Tokyo Game Show 2009, to quote:

"Hard at work on Tokyo Game Show plans. Several new games to be announced in Japan, lots of new content for LP2, TvC, DR2. Exciting!"

So it looks like they may be unveiling new games at the convention in addition to showing new content for Dead Rising 2, Lost Planet 2 and Tatsunoko vs. Capcom.

The Tokyo Game Show 2009 will be held from September 24 to the 27.
 

Marvel Vs Capcom 2 for PlayStation 3 Arrives on PSN Today!

279w ago - Today Capcom's John Diamonon has announced that Marvel Vs Capcom 2 for PlayStation 3 is hitting PSN, to quote:

It's my pleasure to announce that Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 arrives on PSN today for only $14.99. (Take that eBay!).

Marvel was nice enough to provide an exclusive offer to the PSN faithful. The first 15,000 purchasers of the full game will receive a code for a free one month subscription to Marvel Digital Comics! If you are one of the lucky ones, you'll receive an email sometime early next week with your redemption code.

Wait, there's more. Since I know you all have mixed feelings about the original Jazz soundtrack, we decided to implement in-game XMB music so you can choose what tracks you listen to while executing your 100-hit DHCs on unsuspecting n00bs. "I'm gonna take you for a ride. I'm gonna take you for a ride. I'm gonna take you for a ride."

Speaking of music, we collaborated with some of hip hop's true artists to come up with a mix tape inspired by the game. The soundtrack includes songs from Talib Kweli, Raekwon, Hieroglyphics, Living Legends, E-40, Planet Asia, Havoc from Mobb Deep, Mc Supernatural, DJ Qbert, Oh No, DJ Toure and more. PS3 Gets Marvel vs. Capcom 2 Two Weeks Later

283w ago - Following up on the recent revelation that its re-release of Marvel vs. Capcom 2 will hit Xbox 360 on July 29, Capcom today announced that PlayStation 3 edition of the downloadable fighter won't arrive until August 13- two weeks and one day later.

To quote: No reason was provided for the later release, though we're checking in for details.

Based on the Dreamcast edition of Capcom's cult classic crossover fighter, and enhanced with online play and visual options by Backbone, MvC2 will sell for $15.
 

Capcom Announces Resident Evil 5 Ships September 15th to PC

283w ago - Today, Capcom announced that North American PC gamers will be able to get their hands on Resident Evil 5 on September 15th.

European PC owners will have to wait three extra days, or September 18th, to get their hands on the game.

To quote: The PC version will have a couple of additional things from the console versions – chiefly, stereoscopic 3D, as well as new costumes and "new and improved" mercenary mode that boasts three times as many enemies.

Capcom promised that "more details" will be available on the PC version of RE5 in the coming months.
 

Capcom Classics Coming to PSN Starting Tomorrow

285w ago - Capcom's Marketing Coordinator Ryan McDougall has announced today that Capcom Classics will be hitting PSN tomorrow.

To quote: Today, I'm here to bring you word of our upcoming PlayStation classics, a library of classic games being brought to you on the PlayStation Network. We've sorted through our archives and hand-selected the games that rocked the industry.

All of these upcoming classics will be released over the PSN, and will be playable on your PSP.

Coming up first is Capcom Classics Collection: Remixed, available tomorrow. The game is a collection of arcade classics from gaming's glorious past. Pay homage to the best of the arcades, like Final Fight, Bionic Commando, Street Fighter, and Magic Sword. Prove your old-school dominance with twenty full arcade titles. Later this summer, look forward to Fate/Unlimited Codes. Capcom's fighting game masters have brought one of Japan's most popular animes exclusively to the PSN, ready for the new PSPgo.
