277w ago - GameStop has reportedly revealed two more characters in "Zigo the Fisherman" and "Blanche the Actress," available "exclusively" through pre-order of the game via in-store ads.

These characters were previously announced and are the first two characters from the multiplayer portion of the game that 2K has revealed.

To quote: [Register or Login to view links] spotted the images on the 2K's [Register or Login to view links] from Rocco, where astute forum-goers point out that the images of the two characters look a lot like recently released BioShock 2 Mulitplayer Gamerpics #2 [Register or Login to view links] on Xbox Live.

As the game's release has been pushed back to the "first half" of 2010, we're waiting to hear more before running out to the store and dropping five Earth dollars, thank you very much.

BioShock 2 Dated Oct. 30 in Europe, Nov. 3 in North America

100°
287w ago - BioShock 2 will be available in Europe on October 30th and in North America on November 3rd.

It will be hitting XBox 360, PC and the PS3 console platforms.

To quote: During Take-Two's second quarter financial conference call, CEO Ben Feder announced that BioShock 2 will release in Europe on Friday, October 30, while North American gamers will be returning to Rapture on Tuesday, November 3.

It's worth noting that Take Two still lists the game's platforms as "TBA." Given that the previous title was released for Xbox 360, PC and (eventually) PS3, and that Take-Two enjoys making money, it's likely the game will again hit all three high-definition platforms.

There is still the question as to the order in which the game will hit those platforms, though, and with E3 looming, a timed-exclusivity announcement may be in the offing.

50°
314w ago - 2K Boston Assistant Producer Keith Shetler shared the following via PS Blog today:

Hey there! What's that you say? You love challenging gameplay... and failed underwater utopias?

Then prepare to experience the world of Rapture like never before with the BioShock PS3 Challenge Rooms Add-On Content pack available tomorrow, November 20, for $9.99 only on the PlayStation Network.

I'm Keith Shetler, Assistant Producer at 2K Boston, and I'm very excited to introduce two new play modes with this DLC pack: New Game Plus and Challenge Rooms. Both add new twists to the game millions already love!

New Game Plus allows you to start a new supercharged playthrough of BioShock. Ready for this? You begin the game with any weapons, abilities, and inventory that you collected during a previous playthrough. Always wish you could obliterate Dr. Steinman with your uber grenade launcher? Now you can!

Challenge Rooms are another beast altogether. These are puzzle rooms where the objective is to rescue a Little Sister. Sounds easy enough, right? Dead wrong! Whether it's fighting a Big Daddy without any weapons or surviving room after room of Splicers, Challenge Rooms require equal amounts brain and brawn in order to succeed.

The whole BioShock downloadable content...
