PS3 PAIN Downloaders Experiencing Abusement Park Add-On Bug

100°
312w ago - There are many people that are new to PAIN and its various expansion packs. The "Abusement Park" add-on is corrupted for anyone that downloads it right now.

Many are blaming the recent 2.53 patch, which adds a free character and YouTube support to the game.

"If you did not have the Abusement park addon downloaded from PSN prior to the update the level is destroyed and unusable, Items fall through the landscape the background image is blank white and the level is unusable."

A quick look at [Register or Login to view links] shows a lynch mob asking for Idol Minds' head.

Direct-feed video of the glitch shows how the game is rendered unplayable... because nothing gets rendered! Unfortunately, this glitch doesn't appear to be affecting a small group of people.

Once again, this being the holiday season, it seems unlikely that affected individuals will get a patch in the immediate future.

PlayStation Portable 1.50 Kernel Add-On for 5.00 M33 CFW out!

50°
323w ago - Today Dark_AleX has released a PlayStation Portable 1.50 kernel add-on for 5.00 (phat) consoles with M33 Custom Firmware.

Download: PSP 1.50 Kernel Add-On for 5.00 M33 CFW / PSP 1.50 Kernel Add-On for 5.00 M33 CFW [Mirror]

Instructions: Copy to /PSP/GAME5XX and run.

Note: because even deleting LFTV and korean font there was not enough space this time, this version will delete also flash0:/dic/apotp.dic

I'm unsure about what this file is for (maybe for Japanese text predicition?) but system works fine with it.

IF you want to keep some of the things deleted by the 150k_installer do following things.

- Install DC7. Use the Format flash options in nand operations menu. Make flash1 size like around 1 MB smaller, make flash3 the smallest possible, and make flash2 a bit smaller (not too much, or you won't be able to download games and demos from psstore). Then, make flash0 as big as possible and continue.

- Install 4.01 M33, update to 5.00 M33.

- Install 1.50 addon. Dump 5.00 using the latest psardumper, and flash the deleted files you want back.

First Spore Add-on to Arrive Soon at Online Game Shops

50°
325w ago - The first add-on for Spore, called Spore Cute and Creepy Parts, has been spotted at online retailers. It carries with it a price of $19.99 and should go on sale from November 18th, 2008.

To quote: It looks like the first addon for Spore will arrive very soon indeed. Called the Spore Cute & Creepy Parts Pack has a retail price of $19.99 and will be available on the 18th of November.

Word of the expansion appeared on online game shops like Gamestop and Amazon. No box art is currently available.

Judging by the name, the expansion will offer little more than creature parts which is a meager addition for $19.99. We'll give EA the benefit of the doubt for now, and hope that the pack will offer much more than that.
