295w ago - Ready to check out "Big Surf Island"? Burnout Paradise is expanding quite a bit in 2009, and that includes a brand new island to drive around.

The premium DLC won't be free, but considering how much Criterion has already added to the game, we don't mind the opportunity to finally give them money for something.

The island is all about crazy jumps, as this new episode of the CrashTV podcast reveals.

The Future of Console Video Games?

250°
295w ago - Andrew Weymes (aka MrWeymes) says Nintendo obviously went in another direction, deviating from what gamers expect from a next generation console.

I'm sure most gamers assumed that every 5 or 6 years, we would get an upgrade of our current console with a slightly reworked controller, better graphics, and more features such as online capabilities, and Blu Ray.

Sony, and Microsoft knew what was expected of them, and delivered. I don't think that many people thought that the Nintendo "Revolution" (as was the Wii's code name) wouldn't have a standard controller, but in fact make use of motion controls, and that it would have a small emphasis on graphics.

Technically, both the Xbox 360, and the Playstation 3 are superior machines. Both support HD resolutions up to 1080p, both have a more robust online community, both are able to rip music off of CDs, both are able to play DVDs, and the Playstation 3 is able to play Blu Rays.

From a core gamer's perspective, the PS3 and 360 should be head to head, fighting for the top position, while the Nintendo Wii sits in third place. This obviously isn't the case, though. There are many places around the world where it is still very difficult to find a Nintendo Wii, and with titles like Wii Music, and Wii Fit high on casual gamers lists,...

Video: Sixense TrueMotion PS3Mote Update - See it in Action!

400°
295w ago - The mysterious "PS3mote", the Wii-mote-like PS3 controller that has been talked about numerous times over the past 2 years the PS3 has been released. Every gamer knows the power of a controller like this. The Nintendo Wii is the best selling console this generation, and let's face it... It's because of the controller.

A controller that is so user friendly, that even grandma, and grandpa can pick it up, not be intimidated, and have a blast. That's the appeal, everyone has used a remote for their TV, their VCR, their DVD player. The remote is an icon in American (and I am sure many other) culture.

This "PS3mote" has been rumored many times, in the past. It has even had many different explanations of how it worked. Whether it was a waggle controller, an FPS controller, or a "break apart" controller, it never was released, or shown to the public. It has even been said that this "new" PS3 controller has made it to the hands of developers.

Even with all...
