292w ago - Sony's Social Media Manager Jeff Rubenstein is back today with a video FAQ on MotorStorm Arctic Edge.

To quote: After two console-based racing adventures on PS3, MotorStorm finally goes portable this fall with MotorStorm Arctic Edge on the PSP.

You had questions about the environment, multiplayer, and how developer [Register or Login to view links] (Pursuit Force) is going to shrink the game without compromising the action. Fortunately, Game Director Richard Ogden was up to the task.

So, what do you think?

We've now shared all of our pre-E3 Q&A sessions, save for one. Look for our Heavy Rain interview next week.

Walmart is Now Testing Used Video Game Buy Back Kiosks

400°
292w ago - Wal-Mart has stepped up its quest for a slice of the used games market by rolling out a number of used games buy back kiosks.

Essentially the kiosks allow gamers to trade their old games for in-store credit so they can buy whatever they want.

To quote: You'll create an account that you log into every time you go to trade in a game to the machine and this account will presumably be accessible on any Wal-Mart used game kiosk.

There is also a slot to slide your credit/debit card; it's uncertain what role the card plays in you trading in games but my guess it's for some sort of accountability (who traded in what game, etc).

Once you've inserted the used game, the machine will print you a voucher for in-store credit. These kiosks, which accept PS2, PS3, Wii, and 360 games, are only in a few Walmart stores right now but seem to be working their way to more and more locations.

Review: Velvet Assassin Video Game

350°
292w ago - Velvet Assassin Review by Shummyr:

Name of Game: Velvet Assassin
Publisher: SouthPeak Interactive
Release Date: 4/28/2009
Genre: Action, Adventure
Player: 1
Buy/Don't: No
Overall Rating: 1.0
Platforms: XBox 360 and PC

Lets start out by stating this game is possibly the worst game I have ever played/reviewed!!!

You're a British Secret Agent who has to destroy and assassinate key political and military targets.

The AI in the game is so dumb, but dead-on when they go to shoot you. Her sneaking thing is sluggish and inconsistent, the hype was worth it but the game was a huge letdown.

There's not a very big selection of weapons and ammo is scarce at best. Its extremely difficult, slow and tedious. The graphics are horrible, and I've seen better PS1 and Gameboy games that were more interactive and fun.

Now you are probably asking would I buy this game? No, I would not because the gameplay is horrible, the controls are sluggish, or plain flat do not work. As mentioned above, the sneaking thing is terrible and the enemies can see you as if you were walking up to them and ammo is nearly in non-existant.

The levels are the same and repetitive,...

Video: Uncharted 2 PS3 Visuals Blows Away All Competition

550°
292w ago - After watching the 5 min gameplay of Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, I have been left speechless.

I hear this is a common symptom with most PS3 exclusives of late, but this has taken it too far, the game looks incredible, so incredible... nothing else on consoles matches it.

The detail in the character models, faces, environments, explosions, lighting and animations are absolutely fantastic, I have to give special recognition to just how crisp the textures of this game look, I think the secret to the uniquely crisp textures are the fact that they are hand-painted!

For those of you that haven't seen it, you need to watch this footage, it's stunning in every sense of the word, and if this is the level of visual fidelity we can come to expect from every level in the game, I can't wait to see gameplay of some snowy areas.

From loads of insider sources I'm in contact with, they are stating that Nathan Drakes character model alone contains more detail than in some other games environments. various shaders have been applied to his body, and an even more improved expression engine has been used to craft characters organic facial expressions with great care.

No other game comes close to the...
