92w ago - Sony VP of Product Marketing Scott Steinberg has announced today that PlayStation is seeking a few good PS3 gamers!
To quote: We work day-in and day-out here at PlayStation to ensure that you never run out of reasons to be a proud PlayStation fan.
It's our way of saying "Thank you" to the millions of you around the world who demonstrate your passion and dedication to PlayStation on a daily basis.
However, sometimes a simple thank you just isn't enough to truly show our gratitude and that's why we're ready to take things one step further.
I'm joining you today to announce that we're looking for a few good gamers to help us with a special assignment related to our new Long Live Play campaign (yes, we are intentionally being Chimera-like stealthy to pique your curiosity).
I'm talking die-hard members of our PlayStation Nation from all over who are ready and willing to proudly wave the PlayStation flag for all to see. If you think you're the ultimate PlayStation gamer, then we want to hear from you!
Send me an email at email@example.com by 10:00AM PT on Tuesday, 9/20/11 with the following:
• 30 words or less (yes we'll be counting), telling us why you are the ultimate PlayStation gamer.
93w ago - Today PlayStation Store Director Grace Chen has outlined the PlayStation Plus September 2011 offers for subscribers, as follows:
Before we get to what's coming to PlayStation Plus, we wanted to let you know that starting today, we're making a slight change to how we communicate PlayStation Plus updates.
Instead of posting twice per month on what's coming to Plus, we're going to be making one post that gives an overview of all the content that's hitting Plus in that particular month.
So today's post will cover content coming in September, and the next post will hit in the first Monday of October. Of course, with every week's Store Update post, you'll know what's going on the Store for Plus on that week.
Now to the good stuff! We've got some great content this month coming free to Plus subscribers including PopCap's Plants vs. Zombies, the furious shoot-em-up Astro Tripper, and the final game in the SEGA Genesis Collection, Altered Beast. The value of all three of these titles adds up to more than a $24 savings, which doesn't include the additional minis and PSone Classics you'll get this month too.
This month also marks a special occasion as we're celebrating the Resident Evil 15th Anniversary with PSone Classics: Resident Evil Director's Cut, Resident Evil...
93w ago - Today Andy Stewart of the European Playstation Store Team has revealed some special offers available this week, as follows:
Hello everybody and welcome once again to the PlayStation Store Special Offers Update. A couple of weeks ago we launched the PSP Power Sale, bringing you some great PSP games at discounted prices.
Well now its time for the second part of the PSP Power Sale, but what does that mean? New games!! That's what.
Now there is one game on this list I have to give a special shout out too and that is the eagerly awaited Persona 3 Portable. We have been waiting for this game release for quite a bit in the EU and because of that, the publishers have agreed to a 2 week discount for this game on the day of release. So don't miss out and get your copy now to take advantage of this discount.
We also have some other great games available and some of you will notice that games you requested last week on the blog are now in the sale. So don't be scared to make a request and get involved.
Anyway that's enough chit-chat for now, see the content available below for you from the 7th September to the 21st September. Enjoy!
94w ago - Today Sony confirmed that their upcoming PlayStation Suite Tablet is set for a September 2011 release at a hefty price of $500 retail.
To quote from ShackNews.com (linked above): "Sony will be releasing the first of its PlayStation Suite-compatible tablets in September, the company has announced. The Tablet S will release in September, starting at $499 for the 16GB model.
A 32GB model will also be available for $599. The device will be able to download and play PlayStation games, with customizable controls for ease of use.
GamesIndustry.biz reports that the Tablet P, a clam-shell design with two smaller screens, will follow in November. As previously announced, both are Android-powered with 3G capabilities. The Tablet S includes one 9.4-inch screen, while the P sports two 5.5-inch screens.
"We want to prove it's not who makes it first that counts, but who makes it better," said Sony president Howard Stringer at the IFA conference."
