Valkyria Chronicles Update: Demo Arrives, Q&A, and More!

50°
305w ago - Associate Producer Christopher Kaminski from Sega of America shared the following today via PS Blog:

Hi Everyone!

I'm Christopher Kaminski, the US Producer on Valkyria Chronicles, here to update you on a couple of things. First of all, we've released a few new trailers recently that showcase some of the main characters: Squad 7, Welkin and Alicia. As we approach launch, we'll be showing off more of the key units who appear in the game's imminent release!

Now let's dig into the meat of this post. I'd like to tell you how the pre-launch event we had at the Sony PlayStation Store in San Francisco last month went!

Eager fans lined up to meet and get an autograph from our most-esteemed Producer from SEGA Studios Japan, Ryutaro Nonaka. Each person walked away with a limited edition autographed box sleeve, a handy item to have when they pick up a copy of Valkyria when it comes out in less than two weeks (November 4th!).

We even had Alicia Melchiott to greet the fans!

This was a great opportunity for everyone that attended the event to get a little sneak preview hands-on with the demo before anyone else. For those of you curious about how Valkyria Chronicles plays, it's been available on Qore for the past 2 weeks, and hits the wider PSN today.

New DLC for High Velocity Bowling Arrives via PlayStation Network

305w ago - Per Mike Skinner of Team RamRod via PS Blog today:

Hello everyone! Team RamRod is here again this week to introduce some new High Velocity Bowling (HVB) goodness. I know it's gonna be tough to compete with last week's release of the FREE HVB Online Play update in North America, but we have more great news for our fans here in the States.

To all our fans in Europe who are waiting for the online action and new content, please know that we are working as fast as we can to release it to you as well.

Anyone that has played HVB knows that it is filled with an eccentric mix of characters and bowling alleys. Joe and Jill might be your average family playing in a common setting, but it's not everyday you can mix it up on the lanes with a biker who wants to be a Viking.

Most of you know that HVB hasn't had any new faces in the neighborhood for quite a while, so without further delay, I am proud to introduce everyone to our newest bowlers, Foxy Powers and Chastity Falls!

Foxy Powers
Foxy Powers is a retro revolutionary, who hails from Oakland, California. She spends her time challenging one sucker after another in her cool, dark den. Foxy has a powerful shot with a good spin. Downloading Foxy also nets you her special ball, "The Revolution" and her new...

MotorStorm: Pacific Rift Demo Arrives at PSN on October 16, 2008

307w ago - Per Alan McDermott (Audio Lead, Evolution Studios) via PS Blog today:

Since Day 1, I knew it wasn't going to be easy to put a soundtrack together that would have the right vibe for a festival of racing like MotorStorm. You see, Music is one of those things that no one is ever "wrong" about. Everyone has an opinion, and everyone knows best, but no one is ever wrong!

After countless discussions with various people involved in creating the Festival Infrastructure around the MotorStorm racing events, my challenge was set: I needed to put together a lineup that not only fit with a racing game, but one which could feasibly be the Festival line up to end all Festival line ups.

It had to be Anarchic, Aggressive and Raucous. That was the easy part. The tough part was making sure that the soundtrack became as much a signature of MotorStorm as the racing itself was.

With Pacific Rift, I faced the same challenge, but this time, it had to go one better. Up to eleven, if you like. First things first, considering this time around we were allowing the player to play their own music while racing: How do we give the player something that, no matter which way it's looked at, is valuable? How do you put value back in to a licensed soundtrack,...

XCM Crystal Wireless Controller Shell with New D-Pad Arrives!

50°
307w ago - We received word today from the folks over at www.XCM.cc that their new XBox 360 XCM Crystal Wireless Controller Shell with New D-Pad has arrived.

As the name implies, the crystal wireless controller shell comes with the new D-Pad and LED kit set to light up all the controller buttons.

The XCM D-Pad has been redesigned and optimized as illustrated HERE. The new XCM wireless controller shell uses a much larger D-Pad with more room to allow movement when using it.

This helps ensure you don't accidentally hit another direction on the D-Pad while trying to access something else... for example, when switching weapons on most first-person shooters.

They have also made available some related guides as follows:

How to Install the Wireless Control Pad Shell
