Q-Games Unveils PixelJunk Eden Encore Details for PlayStation 3

100°
288w ago - President and Executive Producer Dylan Cuthbert of Q-Games Ltd. revealed more details of PixelJunk Eden Encore for PlayStation 3 today, as follows:

This is Dylan from [Register or Login to view links], the company behind PixelJunk, and this is all about Eden Encore.

First things first, what have we added? Well, basically we have added five whole new stages, each one choc-a-bloc full of ideas and gimmicks. We also designed five brand new backgrounds for them (each background for a garden is programmed uniquely just for that garden's style - just in case you hadn't noticed that in the original), and [Register or Login to view links] went away and created five brilliant new tracks of music to match it all up.

To make things a little easier we are going to retro-patch the original Eden to have a new feature we created for Encore. This is the three-seed smart-bomb power your Grimp now has. Simply put, if you jump into three full seeds in a row, all the "Prowlers" on the screen explode into a big cloud of pollen. Everyone who boots up their original Eden in a few weeks will be patched and get this feature, so look out for that!

Thinking up new stages for Eden was hard work. We put a lot of stuff into the original game, especially the gardens onwards from garden...

Sony Unveils PS3 LittleBigPlanet 1.12 Game Update Details

100°
288w ago - Today SCEA Marketing Manager Mark Valledor revealed the "Cornish Yarg" (aka PS3 LittleBigPlanet 1.12 game update) details as follows:

We don't yet have a fixed release date for this update, but it has now finished primary development so won't be too much longer. Additional fixes, particularly for online connection reliability and save game/profile size problems are already well into development and we'll bring you more news on that just as soon as possible.

This update addresses several outstanding issues with the game:

• There is a new music player which lets player's choose their own music from the XMB to play during create mode and in their Pod
• Improved decoration mode makes it easier to customize your Sackboy

New options to help prevent profiles becoming full of unwanted community objects:

•Option to delete all (unhearted) community objects and photos
• Option to select whether to automatically collect community prizes and photos
• A number of improvements have been made to make profiles more robust and to recover from certain errors
• We now support Japanese and Korean IME for text chat.
• Emitter prediction has been improved (this should help fast-moving projectiles e.g. in MGS levels)

Video: New Wolfenstein PS3 Trailer & Details Available

50°
289w ago - The newest trailer and a ton of info for the upcoming Wolfenstein game from Raven Software was revealed on last night's [Register or Login to view links].

To quote: The game, unsurprisingly, seeks to bring back most of what we remember from the classic id Software title, from main character B.J. Blazkowicz to the gauntlet of Third Reich baddies taking aim at B.J. along the way.

This may or may not be a good thing, considering when we last saw Wolfenstein at the NY Comic Con, we were less than impressed.

Additionally, the next-gen current-gen update to Wolfenstein brings with it some new weapons (a particle gun that vaporizes enemies, for instance) as well as a twist on the gameplay called "the veil," which the game's creative director, Eric Beissman, describes as, "An alternative reality that sits on top of where we live."

From what we can glean from the gameplay in the video, this "veil" business seems to be Wolfenstein's version of bullet-time, as well as a means to employ various powers.

50°
289w ago - Q-Games Ltd. President and Executive Producer Dylan Cuthbert shared details of the PixelJunk Eden Encore update coming in April today via PS Blog:

Eden Encore will be coming out very soon in April. Get ready for zero gravity, mirror worlds, all new music from Baiyon, and we've added something extra special at the end which is a Big Secret(tm) and is a present to all the fans.

On top of all this, we're flying along with the next new PixelJunk title (we're calling it #4 for now) and even experimenting with future PixelJunk ideas too.

But things just keep getting more exciting because PixelJunk Eden has been nominated in not just one, but three (!!!) categories at the upcoming [Register or Login to view links]'s award show in San Francisco, CA. We are also nominated for the [Register or Login to view links] too, which are held during the same week.

Additionally, so [Register or Login to view links] is going to be pretty crazy and even busier than normal, and I am looking forward to it a lot!

Oh, and before I forget, on Friday, March 27 at GDC, [Register or Login to view links] will be doing a talk about Eden and the use of CMYK in his graphic design work....

289w ago - News is making it's rounds on the Internet the next iteration of the PlayStation Portable, dubbed herein as "PSP 3G, is on the way.

Allegedly, it will get 3G support across the globe and will hit during April, 2009.

To quote: Don't get your hopes up, folks, but there is something of a rumor stemming from NeoGAF about the next iteration of the PlayStation Portable, dubbed herein as "PSP 3G:"

David Perry // Producer, SCEA: Also well known as the PSP-4000 or the PSP2, the new PSP model will be called PSP 3G. Unlike previous PSP models it will have a Touch Screen as well as an UMTS support, Bluetooth and a microphone. That means you will be able to use it easily as a normal mobile phone.

With its ultra compact size and design it will be not much bigger than an iPhone but it will offer you the highest gaming comfort. There wont be any UMD-drive any more but instead a keyboard with a slide mechanism though.

But of course, you will be able to download all the games From The PSN Store with the PSP 3G soon. Cooperating with Sony Ericsson, we will be able to deliver the PSP 3G in the USA and Japan by the end of April 2009. First pictures will follow tomorrow.

So, yeah. I think someone was duped somewhere. If you see this pop up, don't buy into it unless...
