Players use the Nunchuck or the Wii Remote to control the player on the ball, while they pick the player to pass to, or send them on runs into space.

The system has been further refined, so that close control is improved, but two new control ideas have also been implemented.

Microsoft Reveals Details of Gazelle Browser

250°
287w ago - Microsoft researchers are working on a new browser called Gazelle which it promises will have some impressive new features and capabilities.

The firm released a [Register or Login to view links] (PDF) late last week, saying that the new browser would offer significant security improvements compared to other browsers, including Internet Explorer.

"No existing browsers, including new architectures like Internet Explorer 8, Google Chrome and OP, have a multi-principal operating system construction that gives a browser-based operating system the exclusive control to manage the protection of all system resources among web site principals," Microsoft said in the report.

The browser will change this tradition by being built on its own kernel, in effect allowing it to operate as an operating system. This means that Gazelle could intelligently identify traffic, and react to anything malicious.

"Our prototype implementation and evaluation experience indicates that it is realistic to turn an existing browser into a multi-principal operating system that yields significantly stronger security and robustness with acceptable performance and backward compatibility," the researchers wrote.

The browser is only open for discussion at this stage,...

287w ago - Today SEGA and Pyro Studios announced their plan to bring the animated movie Planet 51 to game consoles.

The Planet 51 game will be available in Winter 2009 for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, the Wii system, PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system and the Nintendo DS portable handheld system.

Press Release: February 25, 2009 - SEGA Europe, Ltd., SEGA of America, Inc., and Madrid-based Pyro Studios today announced a partnership to create a game based on its upcoming animated film, Planet 51.

Planet 51 is a galactic sized alien adventure comedy from the writer of "Shrek" and "Shrek 2", which revolves around American astronaut Captain Charles "Chuck" Baker who lands on Planet 51, thinking he's the first person to step foot on it.

To his surprise, he finds that this planet is inhabited by little green people who are happily living in a white picket fence world reminiscent of a cheerfully innocent American town circa 1950, and whose only fear is that it will be overrun by alien invaders... like Chuck! With the help of his robot companion "Rover" and his new friend Lem, Chuck must navigate his way through the dazzling, but bewildering, landscape of Planet 51 in order to escape becoming a permanent part of the Planet 51 Alien Invaders Space Museum....

Rumor: Assassin's Creed 2 Details Uncovered for PlayStation 3

550°
287w ago - A JoyStiq (linked above) tipster claims to have been shown very early footage of the next Assassin's Creed. It apparently looked similar to the first game, though set around the 15th century - a few hundred years later.

After the footage played, there was a Q&A session where it was revealed the story would incorporate a family feud and disguises would play a part in the game.

To quote: The focus testers were asked to decide on their favorite of three character designs. Each image had different colored costumes and varying numbers of pouches or bags for the main character, though the overall design was the same: Similar to Altair's, but more colorful and fitting for the time period. Under each image was the word "ezio," an Italian name derived from the word for "eagle." Fitting, for the series.

Our tipster also told us that he saw the protagonist swimming during the video - something we've heard that Altair might've learnt since the first game - and that he can "use gunpowder to propel items at people."

The people conducting the focus test indicated that we might be seeing more of the game at E3 and that it will be in our hands late this year or early next. Of course, we've no way of confirming whether any of this is true, but it all sounds fairly plausable.
