To quote: It's been pretty busy here at Zen Studios, and we just had to take a break to fill you all in on some pretty exciting developments with the Marvel Pinball series.

If you rewind back to San Diego Comic-Con, you may remember we announced a brand new four-table pack, [Register or Login to view links].

Ghost Rider, half of the "Vengeance" part of the title, was the first table revealed, and to this point there have only been a handful of screens to explore - but today, right here on the PlayStation.Blog, we are giving you a first look at Johnny Blaze, Lucifer, and Zadkiel in action.

Did you see what we did there??? "A virtuous announcement coming to [Register or Login to view links]." Yes, we will be revealing a new table this Saturday @ 1:15 - 2:15 during the [Register or Login to view links] at NYCC. Any guesses on...

146w ago - Insomniac Games Senior Community Manager James Stevenson has made available some fresh video footage today of Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One on the PS3 in co-op mode.

To quote: We're just a few days away from Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One releasing exclusively for PlayStation 3.

We hope you're looking forward to exploring Planet Magnus, upgrading your arsenal, and solving the mystery of the Creature Collector with your friends. With that in mind, we wanted to show you a sweet video we put together, highlighting the big co-op moments in the game.

It will take a team effort to steer a taxi through the vertical city streets of Luminopolis, or to coordinate the powerful turrets on the back of a massive robotic Guardian, and this video shows how players will have to work together.

Can't wait until next week to get a taste of Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One? You can check out an offline four-player co-op demo of the game right now, included on specially marked Blu-Ray and Combo Pack Blu-rays of the Sony Pictures film Zookeeper, starring Kevin James. That should definitely tide you over until the full game launches on October 18th!

Also, in case you haven't heard, Target will be releasing an exclusive...

Swingball 2 v0.1 PS3 Homebrew Game is Now Available

146w ago - Today PlayStation 3 developer ThatOtherDev has made available version 0.1 of the PS3 (and Wii) homebrew game called Swingball 2.

To quote: Here is the first and very early release of Swingball 2. Unlike its predecessor it is available not only for Wii but also for PS3 (with a PC version forthcoming).

There were some really cool user made levels for the original Swingball that did things I hadn't even thought of and I’m looking forward to seeing how people take advantage of the new stuff in this game.

There are now blocks that can be swung from but not walked on (they aren't solid). There are also tiles that will change the direction of gravity when you come in contact with them.

I haven't begun it yet but I plan to make a WYSIWYG editor which will make it even easier for people to create their own levels.

There is a lot left to do. The game currently just consists of a single test level.

PS3 controls:

  • Left analog stick = Move
  • Right analog stick = Aim
  • L1 = Jump
  • R1 = Swing

Wii controls:

Video: Ratchet & Clank All 4 One: Face the Octomoth PS3 Trailer

200°
148w ago - Today Insomniac Games Senior Community Manager James Stevenson has shared a new PS3 video trailer for Ratchet & Clank All 4 One: Face the Octomoth below!

To quote: We hope you've been enjoying the Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One Limited Beta over the last couple of weeks, and we're excited for you to get your hands on the full game this October 18th.

Recently, we've released videos showing off the different elements of the game, including a particularly epic spot focused on the light-eating Z'Grute boss that our heroes (and villain) must battle in the city of Luminopolis.

This latest video we want to share takes place on the Aldaros Plains, one of the first areas you'll explore on Planet Magnus. This is an area of the planet where the rules of gravity seem to be bent, and floating islands of rock make up the shifting landscape. The boss here is a gigantic creature called an Octomoth.

If the name doesn't give you an immediate idea of what this fearsome creature would be like, watch the video above!

We hope you enjoyed today's video, and have your pre-order for All 4 One all ready to go for the 18th.

149w ago - Insomniac Games Senior Community Manager James Stevenson has shared a video trailer today showcasing the Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One Luminopolis Boss Battle below.

To quote: We hope you've been enjoying the Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One Limited Beta. We gave out tons of codes last week, and if for some reason you haven't gotten a code to download it yet, check out the special pre-order deal we have going on with Amazon. If you [Register or Login to view links] from now until September 26th, you get into the beta!

Also, if you get over to [Register or Login to view links] before supplies run out, we're giving away a limited number of access codes on the homepage as well! The beta features one-to-four player online and offline co-op, as well as two segments from different locations in the game and a cross-section of the inventive arsenal you've come to expect from Ratchet & Clank games.

One of the frequent questions we get is how the evil Dr. Nefarious ended up with Ratchet, Clank, and President Qwark. We actually explain this at the beginning of the game: Ratchet, Clank and Qwark have arrived on the planet of Luminopolis...
