139w ago - Insomniac Games CEO Ted Price has officially announced today that Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault will be hitting PS3 on PSN this Fall.

To quote: The good people of Insomniac Games are preparing to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Ratchet & Clank, which is coming up later this year.

An HD remaster of our classic PS2 Ratchet & Clank games is something our fans have requested for a long time, and we're looking forward to granting their wishes this summer with the Ratchet & Clank Collection.

But we've also heard a lot of community requests to develop a new Ratchet & Clank game, one that returns to the classic third-person Ratchet & Clank camera.

We listened to your requests, and this holiday season [Register or Login to view links] will release our new Ratchet & Clank game as part of our 10th Anniversary Celebration.

I'd like to officially announce that Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault will be coming soon to a PS3 near you.

Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault is a fun-sized Ratchet adventure which will be available for download exclusively on the PlayStation Store. We've returned to the series' classic feel, camera, controls and weapons, while innovating and giving you a whole new way to play.

Even better,...

Video: Introducing Snapshot, Coming to PS Vita and PS3 This Fall

50°
139w ago - Retro Affect Software Neurosurgeon David Carrigg has officially announced today that Snapshot is coming to PS Vita and PS3 this Fall alongside a video introducing the video game posted below.

To quote: I'm proud to announce that Snapshot, our 2D puzzle platformer, is coming to PS Vita and PS3 (with cross-platform saves) this fall.

In Snapshot, you control a robot named Pic. Pic carries a high-tech camera that can "capture" and remove objects and parts of the environment. You can then paste the picture back into the world causing all the objects to come tumbling back out. If you're looking for a new puzzle game with a twist, keep reading!

The game begins with Pic powering on for the first time in a dusty abandoned laboratory. Uncertain about his purpose and why he was built, he wanders into the forest that surrounds the laboratory.

This is where you'll first start to use your camera to take photographs of objects. The first chapter of the game will hit you with a series of puzzles involving moving objects around within the levels, and it's easier than you think.

If you want to reposition a box, simply snap a photo to capture it, then paste the picture back into the world and watch the box fall back out of it.

Video: Foosball 2012 PS3 to PS Vita Cross-platform Play Demo

100°
140w ago - Following up on their previous developer diary, today Grip Games CEO Jakub Mikyska has shared a new video spotlighting PS3-to-PS Vita Cross-platform play in upcoming title Foosball 2012.

To quote: I'm back to share more details about Foosball 2012! Specifically, to introduce the cross-platform functionalities between PS3 and PS Vita.

We didn't want to have a game that has a version for PS3 and a separate version for PS Vita. We wanted an experience where you don't need to worry about which device you are currently using, because you get exactly the same game - including your current progress, unlocks, and DLC - every time you play, regardless of whether you are currently on PS3 or PS Vita.

First of all, when you buy Foosball 2012, you'll get it for both the PS3 and PS Vita for a price of a single PSN game. The same applies for additional content that you will be able to buy. Purchase the game once and you can use it on both the PS3 and PS Vita.

Secondly, when you play the game, your saves are automatically uploaded to a cloud storage within PSN and synchronized between PS3 and PS Vita. Whenever you start the game, the progress you made on any platform,...

PS3 SPU Emulation Beta Module, Allows x86 PCs to Emulate SPU

700°
140w ago - Shortly following the Alpha 2 Module release, today KDSBest has updated their PS3 / PC SPU emulation project which allows your x86 machine to emulate the PlayStation 3 SPU to Beta status.

Download: [Register or Login to view links]

To quote: Let's call it beta (SPU emulation). Tested with my own elf a lot commands if they work properly. Disabled buttons depending on state.

And last but not least, if you press run a new thread is spawned. Now you are able to press pause and it stops the run ofc. The performance get a super boost with the threading.

Project Update: alpha2 - pre alpha so it is not in pre alpha stage anymore. It detects code modifications on the fly too. The new feature list is not complete that's my fault I guess.

Thanks for the news update. I need some infos from some reversers to create the next stunning feature:

Crypto dumping... dumps all crypto calls... Let's call it function parameter dumping cause it will work for everything and will implement a callback on known functions which will make dumping at certain calls possible.

Video: Foosball 2012 Dev Diary: PlayStation Move Motion Controls

200°
140w ago - Grip Games CEO Jakub Mikyska has made available some video footage today of Foosball 2012 as part of their developer diary series which spotlights the PlayStation Move motion controls below.

To quote: In March, we announced our upcoming PS3 and PS Vita game Foosball 2012.

And now we've returned to showcase a series of short developer diaries where we introduce you to some of the game's coolest features, like PlayStation Move support, full cross-platform compatibility between PS3 and PS Vita and also the online multiplayer mode.

Our first video demonstrates Foosball 2012 and PlayStation Move motion controllers in action, showing that you can play this game exactly the way you are used from a real table football ("foosball") game.

Thanks to the precision and zero lag of PlayStation Move, even the slightest movements of your hands can be properly translated into the game, allowing you to precisely control the shot power, positions of your foosmen, and so on.

One or two PS Move controllers can be used by one player, or you can ignore motion controls and play with the time-tested DualShock 3 controller, where the left stick controls the poles and movements of the ball and the right stick is used to shoot, allowing you to accurately aim and control the shot power.
