Shadows of the Damned: A New Vision of Hell Hits PS3 Today

166w ago - Electronic Arts Senior Producer Steve Matulac has announced that Shadows of the Damned: A New Vision of Hell hits PS3 today.

To quote: In my 20 years in the industry, I have never had an experience like the one working on Shadows of the Damned.

First off, I spent the majority of last year living in Japan and onsite with the developer; Suda51 and [Register or Login to view links]. It was a great experience living in Tokyo and working alongside the great team at Grasshopper Manufacture.

The concept of light and dark as a metaphor for good and evil is an old one, but the Light and Dark gameplay in Shadows of the Damned takes it to a whole new level. It is less literal, but rather metaphorical, in the pain and torment that is caused to our hero.

As for gameplay, the player should not take the approach of "shoot anything that moves". Each environment and enemy will require a thoughtful approach in order to progress. Usually, darkness is lethal to the player, but sometimes may be required in order to expose an enemy's weakness.

Each situation is different and the player must build upon the earlier concepts encountered in order to defeat the tougher enemies deeper in the game. Shadows of the Damned is the thinking...

Video: Need for Speed: The Run Unbuckles the Seatbelt on PS3

166w ago - Sony Senior Social Media Specialist Rey Gutierrez has shared some video footage from this year's E3 Expo spotlighting Need for Speed: The Run on the PS3 entertainment system.

To quote: Sid, Jeff and I have this recurring debate on how to keep a gaming franchise fresh and new over multiple iterations. We've discussed everything from and removing the football from Madden to taking BioShock out of the deep blue sea (oh wait.)

These may sound like little more than preposterous game pitches, but with the latest iteration of Need for Speed, it seams like the dev team at EA eavesdropped on one of our many heated debates. Need for Speed: The Run takes the driver out of the car and into the underbelly of the city streets.

Executive Producer Jason Delong joined us on our E3 livestream and presented a radically different vision for Need for Speed – one in which you're not always behind the wheel.

I've always been a huge fan of all things fast, and Need for Speed has been a long time favorite racing franchise of mine, so when Jason walked us through The Run, I was skeptical at first – but by the end, I was sold on the newest Need for Speed.

Check out the video above for a full in-depth walk-through.

Guide: How to Transfer PS3 Data from 3.65 to 3.55 Firmware

550°
166w ago - Today XDev shared a guide and video on how to transfer PS3 data from 3.65 to 3.55 Custom Firmware allowing PlayStation 3 CFW users to get their accounts that are on OFW to CFW.

To quote: This is useful for those that need to get PS3 DLC map packs accounts ect on their 3.55. Better doing this then having to readd accounts ect all over again after every data transfer like I was.

  • First off the regular PS3 needs to be on 3.65 Firmware. Your second PS3 needs to Be on a 3.55 CFW "Not Rebug"
  • Next you will need to download the 3.65 spoofer.
  • After You have done the above you will need too place the 3.65 spoofer onto the root of a USB memory device.
  • Once done then place USB in ps3 start up ps3 and go too install package files and install the 3.65 spoofer.
  • Once installed start up the spoofer and follow on screen instructions.
  • After all this you are done you can successfully transfer data between your 3.65 and 3.55 ps3 either way no problems.

Credit to Skatekid for tutorial.
Credit to me for proof.

And yes, it works from 3.61 to 3.55 IN MY CASE.. works 3.65 to 3.55 too. I already had spoofer...
