Valve Reveals Portal 2 for PlayStation 3: Steam Details Arrive

400°
158w ago - Valve VP of Marketing Doug Lombardi has revealed Portal 2 for PlayStation 3 Steam details today for fans, as follows:

A few months back, Valve announced some initial details of Steam's debut in the PS3 version of Portal 2.

While people were excited to hear about the PS3 game's inclusion of Steam access to Portal 2 on any PC or Mac, they also had a bunch of questions.

So, here's a bit more info about Steam on the PS3.

Portal 2 for PlayStation 3 is the first title to support Steam on a console. Specifically, that means it offers cross-platform matchmaking, gameplay, friends, chat, and achievements, all powered by Steam.

Steam on the PS3 also saves co-op game progress and single player saved games to the Steam Cloud, enabling players to pick up where they left off on any PlayStation 3.

Steam makes its appearance on the PS3 as an overlay within Portal 2. Here, the Steam overlay provides access to Steam Friends, displaying their in-game or online status and providing a quick pathway to text chats, player profiles, friend requests, and game invites. Steam Achievements are earned in lockstep with PSN Trophies and are also accessible within the...

Video: Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One: Terawatt Forest Trailer Arrives

50°
158w ago - Today Insomniac Games Senior Community Manager James Stevenson has made available a fresh trailer spotlighting Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One in Terawatt Forest and the Mystery of the Creature Collector.

To quote: Yesterday in Los Angeles, we presented a new demo of Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One to an audience of US and European journalists.

While we presented some new levels and weapons/gadgets, we also wanted to show once again that All 4 One is a sprawling new Ratchet & Clank adventure, with a full story, big arsenal, and tons of co-op mayhem. Further, in All 4 One, we like to say there's an "I" in team: work together, but reward yourself.

You all have to help each other out, but at the same time, the winner will earn the best rewards and get the first chance to buy the newest weapons in the game.

We illustrated this in a new level of the game, set in the Terawatt Forest on Planet Magnus. It's the home of a scientist named Dr. Croid – who holds the key to the mystery of the Creature Collector.

The plants and animals here are mutated thanks to the presence of a strange meteor - and players will also have to look out for Dr. Croid's giant Guardian robots that patrol the area (which you'll see in the...

Graf Chokolo's House Raided, PS3 HV Bible Out & Hackers Hiding

1150°
158w ago - Update: PS3 hacker Graf Chokolo's house has now been raided a second time according to court documents and a post on his blog which states, to quote: "SONY was at my home today again, with a new TRO against me. They took my whole equipment again and told me to stop my OtherOS project or else . , guys.

They definitely do not want OtherOS back on PS3. They want me to take down all my OtherOS and PS3 utils. Make sure to clone all my GIT repositories. I don't think you want me to stop, guys, do you ? Tell me what you think.

To give up would mean for me to betray my principles guys, so, the next question is what is more worth to me, my life or my principles. Keep my principles and destroy my life or to trample on my principles and save my life ? Most of you know only my work and don't really know my personality, the guy who stands behind graf_chokolo. I'm proud how my parents brought me up, they tought to me to fight for my principles and what is right. To be a man of principles is not an easy task."
