157w ago - Today Associate Product Marketing Manager Brian Dunn has shared a video confirming that MotorStorm Apocalypse PS3 races to store shelves on May 3, 2011.

To quote: I am pleased to announce that MotorStorm Apocalypse will be in stores across North America beginning May 3.

That means that in just a few short weeks, you€ll be able to get your hands on the most exciting MotorStorm game to date, with more action than a summer Hollywood blockbuster!

I€m also happy to reveal that every new copy of the game will include a voucher for the Premier Pack DLC bundle, which will give you two exclusive in-game vehicles and more (pictured below).

To give you a taste as to what€s in store come May 3, take a look at our recent sit-down interview with Game Director Matt Southern as he talks about his vision for MotorStorm Apocalypse and how the game will deliver one of the best racing experiences to date on the PS3:

Portal 2 Confirmed as First PS3 3.60 Firmware Encrypted Game

550°
157w ago - Today Portal 2 has been confirmed as the first PS3 3.60 Firmware encrypted game, however, as it spreads on torrent sites PlayStation 3 hackers are already examining potential work-arounds to get the game running for PS3 Custom Firmware users.

To quote: We all knew this day would be coming, just like before with the v3.50!

Yep, all the rumors were right! -- Portal 2 would be the first game that was pressed using the currently unreleased APP v3.60 keys!

If you are looking to enjoy the sequel to the acclaimed Valve€s puzzle-action hybrid, the Portal 2, then you need to learn to setup your own portal, because playing it on a 3.55 CFW console right now is not possible.

You are looking at different sets of method being tested such as the famous PARAM.SFO editing, EBOOT decrypting, it€s just useless without the 3.60 keys. To say that the upcoming L.A. Noire is on the same ride will be my heartbreaking May moment.

So, I hope someone will find the solution for this or just roll on the 3.60 CFW already! But remember to eat some cheese with all that wine!

Something always unfolds in the scene, to get you back into the 'gaming'!

158w ago - Sony's Senior Social Media Specialist Sid Shuman has shared an interview with Valve Software today, who answered nearly every Portal 2 PS3 question on the minds of fans!

To quote: Valve Software has repeatedly described Portal 2 for the PS3 as being €the best console version of the game.€

And for good reason, given that you€ll get a free PC or Mac version of Portal 2 along with your PS3 copy, as well as exclusive cross-platform PS3-to-PC co-op gameplay and voice chat, Steamworks features and much more. Good stuff!

Not long ago, we asked you to submit your very best PS3 Portal 2 questions. We wanted every nerdy, detail-obsessed question possible and, as we€ve come to learn, PS3 fans never disappoint.

Last week, we finally cornered Portal 2€s Project Lead Joshua Weier and Writer Erik Wolpaw in a bare concrete room under harsh florescent lighting.

We slapped a thick stack of your questions on the table, cracked our knuckles, and extracted the answers via a combination of brow beating, idle threats, and good old-fashioned seduction.

Actually, we just called them on the phone and goofed off for an hour or so. It went something like this:

Jeff Rubenstein, PlayStation.Blog: I€m one of the people who played...

Video: Street Fighter x Tekken PS3 Gameplay Trailer Arrives

158w ago - Today SCEE's James Gallagher has shared a new Street Fighter x Tekken gameplay trailer and details.

To quote: At Captivate last week, Capcom unveiled the first batch of playable characters in Street Fighter X Tekken: Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li, Guile and Abel from Street Fighter and Kazuya, Nina Williams, King, Marduk and Bob from Tekken.

Afterwords, Producer Yoshinori Ono spoke how Street Fighter X Tekken came to be.

In his words... When we [Capcom] took that 10 year break between releasing Street Fighter games, I feel that Tekken diligently stoked the fighting game campfire and kept people interested. With Street Fighter IV we tossed kerosene on that fire and got fans really excited about fighting games again.

I was having dinner with the Tekken director [Katsuhiro] Harada-san shortly after Street Fighter IV came out and we got talking about how we could keep that campfire burning. We were half-joking when we first conceived this collaboration, but it did seem like a great idea to both of us and pretty soon we were both saying, €you go back to your office and I€ll go back to mine€ let€s synchronise watches and convince everyone that we...
