E3 2008: PlayStation Movie/TV Download Store Detailed & More!

341w ago - Sony detailed its upcoming PlayStation movie and TV download store. Available tonight, the service will offer content from a number of partners, including Fox, MGM, Lions Gate, Warner, Disney, Paramount, Turner, and Funimation.

Consumers will be able to purchase content in both standard and High-definition quality. Pricing will run from $9.99 to $14.99 for purchases, while video rentals will cost $2.99 to $3.99.

Content will be portable. After purchasing a video you'll be able to play it on multiple devices at the same time.

Sony also revealed today that Gran Turismo TV will launch on August 1st and that Ratchet and Clank: Quest for Booty will hit the PSN this summer for $14.99.

Jack Tretton, president and CEO of SCEA, said today that your patience in waiting for PlayStation Home will be more than rewarded. Tretton added that they have made incredible progress and have got some great publisher support on game-specific spaces.

Finally, Tretton revealed that this year they will introduce a single PlayStation Network sign-on for PS3, PSP and PC. He also revealed that over 20 million units of DLC have been download and 180 million units have been download since the PS3's launch.

E3 2008: PS3 Greatest Hits Announced, Little Big Planet Detailed

341w ago - Sony's Jack Tretton announced today the initial lineup of Greatest Hits titles for PlayStation 3.

Scheduled to launch later this year, the roster includes:

- Resistance: Fall of Man
- MotorStorm
- Warhawk
- Call of Duty 3
- Fight Night
- Need for Speed: Carbon
- Rainbow Six Vegas, Assassin's Creed
- Oblivion
- Ninja Gaiden Sigma.

Each title will cost $29.99. Jack Tretton revealed today that Little Big Planet will be released sometime in October 2008.

E3 2008: New PlayStation Home Screens Available

341w ago - Sony has released a new batch of screenshots from its Home online virtual community, showcasing a variety of Home locales, including specially designed meetup rooms for first-party titles Uncharted and Warhawk.

Currently in a limited closed BETA, Home is planned to launch officially in BETA form to the public later this year. Barring any last minute delays, of course.

One of the screenshots is below, with the rest for the new E3-space within PlayStation Home linked above.

Additionally, in one of the screenshots, a billboard for the title 'Ratchet and Clank Future: Quest for Booty' can be seen.

E3 2008: GTA: China Town War Details Released

341w ago - Rockstar has just released new details for GTA: China Town Wars. The game was developed by both Rockstar Leeds and Rockstar North.

"This is a game that will deliver a rich, fast-paced and intense 'Grand Theft Auto' experience that will be truly unique to Nintendo's handheld platform," said Sam Houser, Founder of Rockstar Games.

"Rockstar Leeds, along with the team at Rockstar North, has built upon a decade of progressive design on Grand Theft Auto, and has created something fundamentally fresh and immersive."

China Town Wars will have an all-new story line and take advantage of the DS touch screen. The storyline will focus on the Triad crime syndicate.

E3 2008: Microsoft's E3 Conference - Everything that Happened

342w ago - We've heard some rather interesting rumors from camp Microsoft this year, ranging from the mysterious Lips, to MiiToos aka Avatars, a new Dashboard that might be navigated using a motion controller etc. Microsoft has just wrapped up their E3 press conference in LA, and it's time to see which of those rumors were dead on, and which not so much.

Below is everything that Microsoft announced during the briefing.

* Don Mattrick takes the stage and opens the conference, talks of past successes for Microsoft's Xbox business, and leads in a reel showing Fallout 3.

* Bethesda's Todd Howard takes the stage, plays Fallout 3 on-stage. Announces extensive downloadable content exclusive to Xbox 360 and Games for Windows.

* Jun Takeuchi from Capcom, the producer of Resident Evil 5 takes the stage and demonstrates a live gameplay of the game, including the online co-op mode. Release date announced: March 13 2009.

* Peter Molyneux from Lionhead takes the stage, says (with utter satisfaction) that Fable II is finished. Says "innovation" a lot. Introduces one button press jump-in co-op. Will be released in October.

* Gears of War 2 reel plays. Cliff Bleszinski takes the stage and shows off the 2-player co-op. Shield, flamethrower seen in action, some new wretches-type...
