227w ago - News of Uncharted 2: Among Thieves Multiplayer DLC was recently revealed at Comic-Con 2009 along with some active cinematic gameplay (video below) courtesy of IGN.
Creative director Amy Hennig stated that Naughty Dog's latest will get post-release support in the form of multiplayer DLC.
To quote: "One of the great things about the multiplayer and the co-op is that it gives us great opportunities to expand the experience for players with downloadable content, unlockables, things like that.
Which of course you don't really do with the single-player game that much. We tried to pack a lot of value into the first game in terms of unlockables, but with that online component the game can kind of keep growing, especially based on players' feedback too."
234w ago - Today Naughty Dog Multiplayer Designer Justin Richmond has announced news that a new Uncharted 2 Multiplayer Beta patch is coming soon.
To quote: The Uncharted 2 Multiplayer Beta is about to enter its second week, and we're already making some tweaks to improve your experience. We are preparing a patch for release in the next few days.
Properly applying this patch requires some careful attention on your end: You must watch the screen closely while booting into the beta. As soon as you see the patch message come up in the XMB overlay, you should hit X to accept as quickly as possible.
If you miss the window your PS3 will reset but NOT patch. Simply launch the game and you can try again.
We'll post a notice on the PlayStation.com UNCHARTED 2 Multiplayer Beta Forum letting you know when the patch goes live, and we'll also Tweet it out as well on the PlayStation and Naughty Dog Twitter accounts.
Here's what this beta patch will address:
General • Grenade explosions now apply damage properly
Matchmaking • Players should no longer get hung up in matchmaking for long periods of time
235w ago - Today Naughty Dog Multiplayer Designer Justin Richmond has officially announced that the Uncharted 2: Among Thieves PS3 Multiplayer Beta starts on June 3, 2009.
To quote: For the past few years, we here at Naughty Dog have been cranking away at creating not only a new single player adventure for Nathan Drake, but an awesome new online experience as well.
It has taken blood, sweat, and possibly even a few tears to get to this point, but on June 3, you can get the first crack at a small slice of the multiplayer modes we'll pack into the full game.
Everything in the Uncharted 2 multiplayer experience has been designed to get you into the game and playing quickly, so you can just skip this blog post if you're really that impatient. Just kidding.
When you boot up the beta you'll find we've included 2 playlists for you to try out: co-op and competitive. If you've got friends, we've made it easy to play together - just hit the triangle button to see your PSN friends list and you can send them an invite, join their party, or just check out their profile. Keep in mind that for the beta, the party size is limited to 5 for competitive and 3 for co-op!
Let's give you a quick rundown of our two playlists so you can be ready day one...
