PlayStation Xi Final Videos Available, Hints of PS3 Trophy Room?

50°
288w ago - A few days ago Sony announced that their PlayStation Home alternate reality mystery dubbed Xi's secret was out.

The article didn't go into much detail due to spoilers, leaving people like myself who don't have the time nor desire to get into Xi wondering what it was all about. Thanks to SKFU, wonder no more!

To quote: You need all fragments to enter the big metal door in the Hub and then you have the choice. Destroy Xi or use Xi, watch the videos below + Jess' final video message.

After all the pain to collect all fragments and butterflies you gain 3 in-game trophies which are not even in the normal trophy system. So the thought of Xi to continue is near and if you now go to the manhole on the central plaza you can visit the lounge for people who finished XI. New quests are waiting for you there ;-)

PS3 iTrophies - Your Ultimate PS3/iPhone Trophy App Available

50°
291w ago - Recently iTrophies for your iPhone or iPod touch was just upgraded to version 2.0 [Register or Login to view links], with added several new features included.

[Register or Login to view links] is a handy app that syncs your own PlayStation 3 Trophy data to your iPhone and not only allows you to see which trophies you have earned but which ones you still have to get.

One thing pretty unique with iTrophies that seems to set it apart from the crowd is that fact that is actually supports live syncing, so no longer will you have to manually select each trophy that you have earned.

With the help of a set by set guide which is found over on their [Register or Login to view links] they will help you do the hard part in a matter of minutes.

Another thing that PS3 iTrophies allows is the ability to look at the live status of everyone on your friends list, yo uwill be able to see if they are online or not, their comments, what they are playing, and even compare overall trophy stats with them.

PS3 iTrophies also contains a break down off all your games, showing you which trophies you have earned and which you still have to get, along with info about how...

PS3 Trophy Scanner 1.0 for Linux Released!

550°
291w ago - Here's a little application I wrote, when I was bored. Basically it scans for PS3 game trophy related files like icons and the description files containing the missions to unlock a trophy and it's status (bronze, silver, gold, platinum).

The difference between the application and all the public websites which have trophy lists is, that it also will find trophies which are not released to the press people, yet. So you can be sure this will find trophies directly when they are online, even before the journalists get the info

Your chance to get a complete trophy list ;-)

You have to have curl installed by the way. It's in every Linux repositories so you simply can install it via the terminal. For example in debian distros you only need to open the terminal and enter sudo apt-get install curl to install it.

PlayFire Unveils Official PlayStation Network Trophy Cards

250°
302w ago - Pictured below are the official designs for the PSN Trophy cards, which PlayFire.com has revealed to its members in conjunction with SCEE.

PlayFire took the bull by the horns when SCEA released its Trophy features on PlayStation.com and allowed users to sync their PlayFire cards with their Trophy info.

It's not automatic, but it's a lot faster than adding them individually. These new official cards, however, will "update automatically based on the Portal." We're not sure what the "Portal" is, but a Trophy card that updates automatically sounds great to us.

These Trophy cards will be available from eu.playstation.com (though you can use a PSN account from any region) at some point soon. We'll be sure to let you know when they go live.

Trophy Errors Hit the PlayStation 3, Fix Coming

50°
313w ago - An unexplained error related to PS3 Trophy synchronization is breaking a number of games on the console.

The error, which seems to have first struck after the release of firmware version 2.50, appears to occur when users change their PSN ID or password.

After doing so, their Trophy data becomes corrupt and running a select number of games brings up an error that notifies the user of a failure to sync Trophy data. In the worst of cases, the game forces the player to quit and "try again", only to repeat the same message.

Known affected titles include WipEout HD, Burnout Paradise, LittleBigPlanet and Pain.

The first complaints hit forums back in October and, having gone unfixed for so long, it has left many doubtful that a patch will come before the Christmas break, when those PS3s should be getting a considerable hammering.

A Sony community man posting under the alias 'MusterBuster' only just this week said: "A fix is on the way, but I don't have an ETA yet".

Firmware update 2.53, released earlier this month, didn't fix the problem.

CVG has contacted Sony for an official statement. Hopefully we'll have some good news for you before the day's out.

Otherwise, there is one suggested fix that has worked for some titles. Bit of a pain...
