Outland Hits PSN This Spring, Includes Two Co-Op Modes & More

50°
197w ago - Sony's Senior Social Media Specialist Sid Shuman has revealed today that Outland is hitting PSN this Spring with two Co-Op Modes and more, as follows:

Last fall, I got a first look at Outland, a side-scrolling action game that casts you as an urban sophisticate-turned-spiritual warrior.

The dreamlike visuals, fluid platform mechanics, and sharp sword-based combat pointed to a fascinating PSN game.

Since then, developer Housemarque (creators of PSN classics Dead Nation and Super Stardust HD has been busy fleshing out the game with details that will make fans of the classic 2D side-scroller Castlevania: Symphony of the Night beam with delight.

A gorgeously illustrated introductory cinematic introduces you to the protagonist, a nameless, faceless modern-day urban dweller haunted by visions of a vast wheel, endlessly turning.

Maddened by the visions and unable to find relief, the protagonist seeks out a mystic shaman who guides him on a path of spiritual awakening and alerts him to a timeless, cyclical battle with a pair of god-like Sisters who created the world and now seek to destroy it. Guess what? The fate of the world is now in your hands. Lucky you!

"The Sisters are the final bosses in the game," explained Producer Adam Sarasohn....

210w ago - The Fancy Pants Adventures Creator Brad Borne has confirmed today that the PSN title will be heading to PlayStation Network for fans in Spring 2011.

To quote: I'm crazy excited to be here to talk about [Register or Login to view links]. I created the first game in Flash while I was in college, and now, many years later, the series is making the jump to console.

It's a dream come true for me, I really couldn't be more excited to give you guys the best game that [Register or Login to view links], [Register or Login to view links] and I could possibly create.

I grew up playing video games, and I love knowing that players are finally going to experience The Fancy Pants Adventures in that classic video gaming zen, on a comfy sofa, with a controller in their hands.

One of the most fun aspects of creating the Flash game was engaging the community and the fans. That is incredibly important to me and something I absolutely want to be able to continue in the move to the PS3.

What's also awesome today is that instead of just talking about the game, I'm able to let everyone who's interested CHECK OUT the Fancy Pants Man's latest adventure before release!!

Sony on Virtua Tennis 4 & PlayStation Move, Hits PS3 Spring 2011

226w ago - SCEE Blog Manager James Gallagher has shared details on Virtua Tennis 4 and PlayStation Move today, and confirmed it will be hitting the PS3 entertainment system in Spring 2011.

To quote: I recently spoke to the game's Executive Producer, Mie Kumagai, and asked why she had chosen to develop a tennis game when she served us the first in the Virtua Tennis series, back in 1999.

"When we first started the series, we wanted to make a casual arcade game that everyone could pick up and enjoy," she said.

"Sport seemed like a good place to start because it appeals to many people that wouldn't usually play games. That was the start of the series, but we reached a point where we were looking for something new; it's around this time that we heard about PlayStation Move."

Virtua Tennis 4 lets you step into the shoes of some of the world's best tennis pros. Every swing of the racquet can be performed with the PlayStation Move motion controller and you can judge the approach of the ball better than ever, thanks to stereoscopic 3D support. I asked Kumagai for her thoughts on Move and her philosophy behind working with a motion controller.

"I saw PlayStation Move at quite an early stage in its development," she replied, "and I remember being curious...
