BioWare is Excited to Work on Dragon Age: Origins for PS3

50°
263w ago - BioWare, the developer of Mass Effect and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, is excited to be working on the PS3 with the upcoming multiplatform fantasy RPG Dragon Age: Origins.

The game is BioWare's first for Sony's console. Last generation, the EA-owned developer made only a single PS2 game: third-person shooter MDK2.

Speaking to VideoGamer.com (linked above), vice president of entertainment and miscellaneous at BioWare, and vice president of Electronic Arts, Greg Zeschuk, said that the team's found developing on the PS3 "exciting", and even has its advantages.

To quote: "It's been interesting," he said. "It's actually been quite good. We discovered a couple of things we did were pretty beneficial. We have multiple threads going for the game and it looks really great on the PS3. You can just throw them on all different processors, for example."

"It's new. Because we already had experience on 360, that kind of got ahead a little bit, but now we pretty much caught up. Actually it was very exciting. People on the team were really pumped to work on it. They were like, wow. We have a lot of people that like doing new stuff and trying new things, and they were like, wow another platform, can't wait! It's been good."

Zeschuk added that BioWare's...

Review: X-Men Origins: Wolverine - Uncaged Edition

272w ago - X-Men Origins: Wolverine - Uncaged Edition Review by Shummyr:

Name of Game: X-Men Origins: Wolverine - Uncaged Edition
Publisher: Activision
Release Date: 5-1-2009
Genre: Action and Adventure
Player: 1
Buy/Don't: No (But makes a good weekend rental)
Overall Rating: 5.0 out of 10.00
Platforms: XBox 360, PS3, Wii, DS, PSP and PC

This is a simple hack-and-slash game... it will take about 20 hours to complete. The camera is fluid but can be a tad bit jerky at times, other than that it's good.

The story is somewhat shallow and the flashbacks are frequent. The controls, however, are very well placed and easy to remember.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine (Uncaged Edition) presents an excellent amount of challenges, and the achievements are strategically placed so that unlocking them coincides with relevant parts of the storyline.

It's also very neat how you can unlock old costumes and play with the classic costumes.

This game reminds me a lot of Wolverine's Revenge.. very similar if not a remake, with updated graphics and a new storyline.

The reason I would not buy this game instead of renting it is because I'm not a big fan of hack-and-slash genre (it's...
