Introducing Thomas Was Alone, Coming Soon to PS3 and PS Vita

100°
82w ago - Designer Mike Bithell has officially introduced Thomas Was Alone today, which is coming soon to both PS3 and PS Vita consoles.

To quote: The first console I ever bought for myself was a PlayStation 2. I remember digesting every single game on the packaged demo disk in fevered anticipation, while saving up the money to buy Metal Gear Solid 2 to go with it. For the record, I always thought Raiden was cool.

Now I've wowed you with my PlayStation fanboy credentials, I hope you'll understand the excitement I feel at uttering the following words: This Spring, Thomas Was Alone is coming to PlayStation 3 and PS Vita (with cross buy).

Which is, if we're honest, ridiculous. I made a game about rectangles and friendship in my free time. I was lucky enough to find some incredible collaborators who made my script sound good, and my environments sound far more awesome than their humble rectangular graphics.

I was shocked when a community formed and people actually played it. According to the Internet, they liked it too.

And, thanks to the cool people at Bossa, Curve and Sony, that game is coming to a console near you, very, very soon.

Thomas Was Alone is a platformer where the goal is simple - get all the characters to their exit portals. You'll find...

Video: Urban Trial Freestyle Racing Soon to Hit PSN and PS Vita

200°
87w ago - Tate Interactive GM Wojtek Bilinski has announced today alongside a video trailer that Urban Trial Freestyle Racing is soon to hit both PSN and PS Vita platforms.

To quote: There are motorcycle arcade style games out there already, and although many are really fun (everybody remembers Elastomania!) most of them lack depth.

So with Urban Trial Freestyle, we decided to add high-quality graphics and a modern social experience to the gameplay to bring this genre to a whole new level.

We wanted Urban Trial Freestyle to provide players with the highest level of competition as possible, so we are including about 100 different leaderboards. Players can compare their best score and best time depending on two different game modes.

For example, in stunt mode, players can compete to be named "Best Stuntman" on every track. There are 20 tracks, and five kinds of stunts to perform on each track - and each one of them has its own leaderboard - all making Urban Trial Freestyle more unique and more competitive!

Arcade games are great for quick competitions so we also gave Time Attack mode a boost by storing the ghost of the best player on PlayStation Network so everyone can challenge him/her (it's possible to choose worldwide best player or best amongst your friends).

103w ago - Today Writer Gary Whitta has confirmed that The Walking Dead: Episode 4 - Around Every Corner is coming soon alongside a new video trailer and screens below.

To quote: Congratulations. You've made it. You've survived. This far.

If you're reading this blog, that means you've probably already played the first three installments of [Register or Login to view links]' episodic video game adaptation of Robert Kirkman's never-ending zombie epic The Walking Dead. And you've been put through an emotional meat grinder unparalleled in interactive storytelling.

You've had to deal not just with the dead rising up, but with the living brought low as the scattered and desperate survivors of the zombie apocalypse have struggled to hold onto their humanity under impossible pressure.

You've seen murder, cannibalism, fear, paranoia, insanity, betrayal, and even the tragic death of an innocent child. And all I can say to you after all that is, I'm sorry. Because it's about to get worse. Much worse.

At the close of Episode 3, Lee Everett and his fellow survivors were just about to arrive by train in Savannah, where Kenny, distraught after the recent loss of his wife and son, has pinned all his hopes on finding a boat that can carry the group to safety.

Scourge Announces Outbreak is Infecting PlayStation Network Soon

50°
111w ago - Tragnarion Studios Lead Game Designer Omar Salleh has announced today that Outbreak will be infecting PlayStation Network soon.

Below are the details, to quote: Since our announcement in May about the upcoming release of our third-person shooter Scourge: Outbreak, we've been hard at work wrapping things up and getting the game ready for launch in a couple of months' time.

We're especially keen to see players get a kick out of the co-op narrative style that we've developed, whereby each of the game's four playable characters experiences their own unique flashbacks throughout the game.

These memories are designed to fit together as a kind of jig-saw puzzle, so the best way to get the full picture is to discuss them with your buddies. Some show dubious details about yourself, while others cast doubt on your squad-mates.

Who's the real enemy? What's going on? What did you see? Don't worry... single-player is a complete experience in and of itself, but co-op is where this style of narrative really shines.

We've also worked hard on bringing a polished, fluid and action-packed third person shooter to the PlayStation community. Scourge: Outbreak is often compared to other well-established third person shooters, but we've tried to capture a faster-paced,...
