176w ago - SCEA's Product Marketing Manager Jefferson Dong has dropped word today that The Sly Collection for PS3 is sneaking into PlayStation 3 retailers for $39.99.
To quote: While fans may know Sly Cooper best for his sneaky and stealthy exploits on PlayStation 2, his latest heist will be on PlayStation 3 this fall in The Sly Collection with three re-mastered classics in HD... for less than the price of most retail games!
We're excited to announce that following in the tradition of the God of War Collection, The Sly Collection will be available this fall for just $39.99 MSRP.
And what does that one-penny-less-than-40 price tag get you? Let's start with all three original Sly Cooper titles... this includes Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus, Sly 2: Band of Thieves and Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves, all re-mastered in glorious HD graphics.
Next, Sanzaru Games has added 3D support for all 3 games, as well as new PlayStation Move mini-games which you'll be hearing more details about very soon. And finally, PSN trophy support will be integrated into the entire collection, with three platinum PS3...
179w ago - Sanzaru Games President Glen Egan has shared a first look at The Sly Collection in HD, which is also playable in 3D on the PlayStation 3 for those with a 3D TV of course.
To quote: We are very hard at work bringing The Sly Collection to the PS3 and I just wanted to use this brief post to tell everyone a little bit about our studio and what's going to be in the game.
Sanzaru Games has been making videogames since 2007; the PlayStation historians out there may remember that we were responsible for the PS2 version of Secret Agent Clank.
But this year we are sinking our teeth into the PS3. In case you missed all the E3 action, here is a quick rundown on The Sly Collection...
The game will feature all three titles in the Sly Cooper series: Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus; Sly Cooper 2: Band of Thieves and Sly Cooper 3: Honor Among Thieves. They have all been remastered in HD with up-rezed textures and full 16:9 widescreen rendering to deliver the most vibrant, crisp Sly Cooper experience yet.
Sly Cooper 3 will also be playable using the latest 3D televisions, which are extremely cool – I wish there was a way to demonstrate it online, but I think the best thing to do is to swing by your local Best Buy (or whoever)...
200w ago - European Product Manager Alex Pavey has shared a recap today on Four Days: The Heavy Rain PS3 Online Experience, as follows:
Last week saw the second chapter of Four Days: The Heavy Rain Online Experience unfold.
The investigation took a dark turn, as participants took part in a criminal investigation - handling an emergency call, investigating crime scene evidence, questioning a well-meaning but unreliable witness, and ultimately submitting data to the Bureau for further analysis.
At the end of the week, all those who submitted the correct evidence pack from the crime scene were given an exclusive voucher code to download the Heavy Rain playable demo from the PlayStation Store. The demo will not be made generally available until this Thursday, 11th February - so there's still time for you to get involved and get hold of the demo early.
201w ago - As a follow-up to last week's article, today European Product Manager Alex Pavey has shared a glimpse into the Heavy Rain Online Experience, previously on Four Days, Part 1.
To quote: Four Days: The Heavy Rain Online Experience kicked off last week, and it's been great to watch thousands of you following the early stages of the investigation.
A trail of clues led participants across the net, and they witnessed the disturbed and suspicious ranting of someone who may prove to be a potential suspect.
Some participants also discovered that their credentials gave them exclusive access to a parallel investigation taking place in PlayStation Home...
This week is where the real work begins. A crime has taken place, and you will be tasked with supporting the investigation. Analyse the crime-scene - question an eyewitness - assess the evidence. The consequences will be great, but the rewards may be even greater.
If you haven't registered yet, then head over to HeavyRainPS3.com to sign-up (you'll also get an exclusive PlayStation Home t-shirt when you do).
240w ago - Game engine work on both the PS3 and XBox 360 versions of this hotly anticipated JRPG Final Fantasy XIII is being conducted simultaneously, Square Enix has revealed.
To quote: Speaking to VideoGamer.com (linked above) at a recent press event in London, Final Fantasy XIII producer and series legend Yoshinori Kitase said that regarding the "basic engine", work on both the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the game will be kept on the go "simultaneously".
Final Fantasy XIII runs on the Crystal Tools game engine, an engine built by Square Enix to be used across the PS3, Xbox 360, Wii and PC. It was created during development of Final Fantasy XIII as a means of stepping up from the PS2, home of the last "main series" Final Fantasy game.
The Xbox 360 version of the game was spectacularly announced during Microsoft's media briefing at E3 last year. Square Enix has said that the game will be released in Japan on the PS3 only, then released in the US and Europe simultaneously on the PS3 and Xbox 360 at a later date.
In a video shown to press late last year, Final Fantasy XIII director Motomu Toriyama said: "We're making the PS3 version first, and then porting to the 360 later."
Some gamers have expressed concern over the prospect of the Western release...
