Metal Gear Solid 4 on XBox 360 Rumors Gain Ground

287w ago - According to a Tokyo Game Show report from Japanese investment research firm Morningstar, Metal Gear Solid 4 may find its way to the Xbox 360 after all.

Morningstar published a general article covering multiplatform trends that features a quote from a Konami public relations representative that should fuel rumors for months to come.

The rep is quoted as saying, regarding MGS4, "We're actively looking into a release for the Xbox 360." While this isn't a confirmation of it coming, it does lend hope to those Xbox 360 owners who haven't plunked down money on a PS3.

However, this little quote doesn't clear the major hurdle Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima has listed for the title coming to Xbox 360. He has been quoted in several interviews saying a port was likely impossible due to the game being optimized for the PS3 hardware, specifically Blu-ray discs.

IGN has contacted Konami's US representatives for a comment and is awaiting a response.

Forget the PS4 Rumors: PlayStation 3 will Keep Us Busy for Years

288w ago - Just bought a PlayStation 3 console when I read the rumors of a PlayStation 4 coming out soon and all the mind blowing possibilities of the theoretically new console.

I could barely afford the PS3 much less worry about what its going to cost for a PS4. But, based on what Paul Holman (Sony Vice President of Technology) told TechEBlog in 2006, the PS4 will not be out until at least 2010.

Then there's the rumor that the future PS4 will use the same existing cell processor that the current PS3 uses, according to a Japanese tech news site PC Watch. I'm not sure about that because if this rumor does prove to be true, I'd be sorely disappointed.

For the most part, why invest in all these upgrades for the PS3 coming out soon only to purchase a PS4 which as we experienced with the PS3, having limited to no backwards playability again?

They just came out with a PS3 Bluetooth headset for the console, not to mention a possible controller that will function like the controllers of a Wii.

Sony is still upgrading the...

292w ago - Here is the latest news and rumors from the new PSM3 magazine's 'The Insider' article, courtesy of SWORDF1SH via GameTrailers (linked above).

To quote: Alone in the Dark is being redesigned for PS3. Expect right stick camera control, a slicker menu system and enhanced visuals.

Apparently the reason for the 6 month delay of PlayTV, is that Sony tried to implement Freesat (an HD-capable alternative to Freeview), but its impossible - for now. PlayTV 2.0? Surely not...

Guitar Hero IV shots have leaked showing in-game Ozzy Osbourne renders. But the series could be in trouble after Warner Brothers were demanding more money for use of their music in the game, and in Rock Band too.

The new Medal Of Honor is rumored to take place in modern-day Afghanistan, possibly revolving around Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Intriguing details of BioShock's PS3-exclusive 'Plasmid challenges' have emerged. They're said to play like Valves ingenious Portal featuring twisted logic puzzles.

A BioShock movie's in the works, and designer Ken Lavine has said "it'll very much honour the dramatic themes of the game".

There's a new Sly Racoon game coming to the PSP. Vigil Games, the devs of Darksiders: Wrath Of War were set to work on it, but moved to that game instead.

301w ago - Xabora posted up some rumors regarding potential upcoming Xbox stuff at NeoGAF linked above. The Xbox 360 will be slimming down to a Wii-like size, this model should have a GPU and CPU combo dye with E-DRAM off to the side.

Next up is the model after the 360 that is expected to have a Blu-ay drive, quad core CPU, 1TB hard drive and a sepculative release date of 2010.

To quote: Today I ran across some information. However I do live in an area with a good deal of employees/contractors from a rather large corporation and have worked with some of them in my past. So lets start off with some of the info I was given starting with the 360 in general.

From what I was told during a conversation; Microsoft seems to be slimming the system down to a 'Wii-like' size. (A Fat overweight Wii) This model should have the CPU+GPU Combo Dye with the E-DRAM off to the side. Thats all the information I have on that.

Now I'm not 100% sure on this so do not get hyped up, but speculated release is Late Winter 2008ish? Side note, ATI/AMD has been working on a CPU/GPU Combo dye for sometime.

As for the Xbox, The model after the currently existing Xenon/360... that is expected to have a Blu-Ray Drive?, 1TB HDD, and a Quad-Core CPU. Speculative Date is considered 2010~.(Considering its...

Microsoft responds to Xbox 360 Elite Rumors

50°
301w ago - Microsoft has today responded to a number of misleading stories in the UK's mainstream press earlier this week regarding alleged 'red ring' problems with the Xbox 360 Elite console that have been experienced by numerous UK gamers.

Microsoft has now issued the following official response to these stories, which appeared in the Daily Mirror and the Daily Telegraph:

"Recent reports in the UK media regarding Xbox 360 contain inaccuracies and pure speculation, as well as news that is a year old.

"Prompted by what Microsoft viewed as an unacceptable number of repairs to Xbox 360 consoles, a year ago Microsoft announced an expansion of its Xbox 360 warranty. Effective 5 July, 2007, any original retail Xbox 360 customer who experiences a general hardware failure indicated by three flashing red lights is covered by a three year warranty from date of purchase, with all other issues remaining covered by the standard one-year warranty."

Why the red ring?

Microsoft's official statement also reiterates the company's initial comments...
