Video: Destiny: Bungie on Customization, Class Types, and Multiplayer

59w ago - Sony French Blog Coordinator Marianne Sartori is here with a fresh video and interview spotlighting Customization, Class Types, and Multiplayer on Bungie's Destiny for PS4 below.

To quote: During Gamescom, I was very pleased to meet with Bungie's David "DeeJ" Dague, who was kind enough to answer questions about Destiny - the studio's keenly anticipated project.

We covered a number of topics, including item customization, class types, weapons, and details on how multiplayer will work.

PlayStation.Blog: Bungie is staying in the science-fiction realm with Destiny. How are things different this time?

DeeJ: Destiny takes place in an entirely new world, with lands that are different from anything that we've created before. And we actually call it "mythic science-fiction," where we're fusing Destiny with science-fiction, fantasy, and mysticism.

I think the players will relate to the heroes of Destiny as knights more than soldiers. Destiny is all about your own personal quest. It's about an epic adventure to solve the mysteries that are encountered through the story.

PSB: The landscapes are post-apocalyptic ones. You mentioned that it would be something people would feel comfortable in.

DeeJ: It is a little...

Muse Games Announces Gun of Icarus Online is Coming to PS4

61w ago - Muse Games Team Lead Howard Tsao announced today that Gun of Icarus Online is coming to the PS4 console with details below.

To quote: To have the opportunity to bring Guns of Icarus Online to PS4 is a dream come true for us. We are [Register or Login to view links], a small studio in New York City where Guns of Icarus Online has been our baby and our life for almost 3 years.

What if you took the thrilling moments of using those big mounted turrets in shooters and made it the core of a game? You blowing stuff up with this mammoth artillery or heavy machine gun, mowing down lines of enemies.

What if, instead of being alone, you were placed in an enclosed space with 3 other people on an airship in the sky, bringing down enemies, triumphing, and perishing together, as a single entity? Coordinating which guns to man, what needs repairs, all hell breaking loose on deck as other ships are torn apart around you.

In Guns of Icarus Online, you and your crew slip into specific roles to steer the ship in and out of combat, hop on big guns to take out enemies, and make desperate repairs in hopes you survive another encounter with an airship that approaches you from beyond the horizon.

We started this journey on napkins and notepads. We wanted to push the boundary...

Killzone: Shadow Fall PS4 Q&A: Creating Echo and Sinclair

250°
65w ago - Killzone Community Editor Victor Zuylen made available a Killzone: Shadow Fall PS4 Q&A today detailing the creation of Echo and Sinclair.

Below are the details, to quote: As we announced earlier this month, we've secured the amazing talents of David Harewood and Jamie Gray Hyder to portray two key characters from Killzone: Shadow Fall - VSA director Sinclair and Helghast intelligence operative Echo.

But who exactly are Sinclair and Echo, and how did their character designs come about? We asked Assistant Art Director Dan Calvert to shed some light on these enigmatic characters.

PlayStation.Blog: Who are Sinclair and Echo, and what roles do they play in KZ:SF?

Dan Calvert: Sinclair is the head of the Vektan Security Agency - his job is to make sure the balance of power favors Vekta without escalating the cold war into open conflict. Part spymaster - part diplomat, and with a shrewd strategic mind, he is Lucas' direct CO and mentor.

Like Lucas, Echo is an elite operative tasked to cross the wall, and her mission puts them on a collision course. She is extremely dangerous; an equal but opposite reflection of the player character.

PSB: How did the design of these characters evolve?

DC: In order to get stronger...

Video: Introducing The PlayRoom on PS4, Only for PlayStation 4

71w ago - Sony Producer Nicolas Doucet posted up a video today introducing The PlayRoom on PS4, and only for PlayStation 4 below!

To quote: Hi everybody! We're excited to unlock the doors to The PlayRoom, a place for fun and innovative PlayStation 4 Camera and DualShock 4 controller experiments!

As we recently announced, the DualShock 4 controller is packed with lots of new features (such as Light Bar, Touch Pad, Motion Sensor, Speaker, improved Dual Motors...). So what happens when we combine these with the PlayStation 4 Camera? Well, let us show you with this new video!

Let's start with the AR Menu. The first thing you will notice is how the Light Bar is tracked by the PlayStation 4 Camera. This allows us to make cool augmentations like these holographic panels, which come out of the controller and appear around you on the screen.

Using the Touch Pad, you can scroll through them and click to make selections. It's easy to use and very responsive, thanks to the high resolution of the Touch Pad.

Another cool finding is one we nicknamed "the sci-fi genie". By rubbing the Touch Pad like a magic lamp, you can summon Asobi, an interactive flying robot who comes out to play in your living room....
