PS3 EBOOT.BIN ELF Memory Offsets Mapped for Debug Consoles

50°
303w ago - This was posted 2 days ago (working thread) in the PlayStation 3 Dev News Forum courtesy of XVISTAMAN2005 with assistance from idone, and is handy for PS3 Debug console owners in rebuilding decrypted ELF's from a SELF launched into memory.

To quote: Well this took some time but we have it sorted out, CJPC posted a while back ago that an eboot.bin had been decypted from memory. The bad thing about this is that it is verry difficult to figure out how the file was before it was loaded and to put it back to an executalbe file.

Well after HRS and sleepless nights this has been sorted and put in an easy to do map. The following is an example of the the file location offsets located in the elf header. Based on this the file can be rebuilt in a matter of mins.

NOTE: THIS IS JUST AN EXAMPLE OF HOW IT COULD BE DONE THE MEMORY OFFFSET LOACTIONS CAN CHANGE A BIT FROM FILE TO FILE SO ONE WOULD HAVE TO DOUBLE CHECK THERE MEM DUMP FOR SECTIONS IF THE OFFSET TABLE DOES NOT MATCH UP BUT THIS MAP WAS USED ON 3 DIFFERNT EBOOT.BIN'S SO...

More free PS3 Consoles for Bravia buyers in Australia

50°
339w ago - Update: According to [Register or Login to view links], Sony is giving away another 10,000 free PS3's to those in Australia. All you have to do to get a free PS3 system is purchase a Bravia LCD TV.

Adam over at Gizmodo Aus (linked above) reports that Sony is giving away 35,000 PS3's to Bravia TV purchasers for the month of July.

In a promotion to get Olympic viewers to buy before the games start Sony are giving away just 35,000 PS3 consoles, with a Web site for checking how many are left or the ability to find out via SMS or toll-free number.

The special offer will run between July 1 and 31, and applies to any purchase of a Sony Bravia XBR, X3100, W3100, V4000 and W4000 models.

Sounds like they have learnt their lesson from some of the bad press generated by the previous offer (Although I have to say my one and other folks I know who got them, came pretty quickly).
