Video: Pointman: The Akkadian Wars PS3 Homebrew Game Arrives

48w ago - Today PlayStation 3 developer condorstrike has shared some video demo footage of Pointman: The Akkadian Wars PS3 homebrew game POC for PlayStation 3 Custom Firmware users with details below.

Download: POINTMAN.pkg

To quote: Hi guys, it’s been hard finding time for the ps3 with so much going on at work and home, that’s the reason i decided to release the pointman beta as a (poc). wish I had more time to complete it and polish it, another reason is that the PS4 is around the corner, and I’m also making a pc game.

Pointman: the Akkadian Wars The game is a throwback to 80′s and 90′s styling and music, all of it was built for you guys as a proof of concept that with some time and creativity cool things can be accomplished. This game will run in CFWs 3.55 and 4.xx. There will be bugs!

Powerups are mostly disabled, and there’s a glitch on some textures loading, but it’s rare. I do a small homage to the scene in the credits, but you’ll have to finish the level first, good luck with that... lol, forget about HARD mode, even I can’t finish it, so use EASY.

If you let the MAIN MENU run, you’ll get to see the story, 80′s style.

Soul Sacrifice: PSN Demo Out Today, Saves Transfer to Full Game

53w ago - Sony Producer Kumi Yuasa announced that today the Soul Sacrifice PSN demo arrives, and has confirmed that game saves transfer to full game with details below.

To quote: I hope you€re ready for Soul Sacrifice - the demo will be available this afternoon on PSN!

Your first reaction to the demo might be, "Holy moly, this is a LOT of demo!" ...And you'd be right! The entire first chapter of the full game is included, all of which is playable with up to three other friends via online or ad-hoc multiplayer. Inafune-san made it a special point for the demo to be quite substantial, as you can read in his comments below:

€The number one reason for the Soul Sacrifice demo to have a lot of content was to show the users the full attraction of Soul Sacrifice. We knew that cutting out a small section of the game and saying, 'Isn€t this part fun?' would not show the users the full potential of the game. We figured that it wouldn€t make sense if the users could not have the 'I want to play more' feeling.

€So, we decided we want to provide, €at the very least,€ this amount of the game for the users. That is why, if you compare it to a standard demo, this became such a substantial piece. But we are confident that this will not become something negative where the users will feel...

Video: Irrational Games Confirms BioShock Infinite Out Today on PS3

56w ago - Irrational Games Creative Director and Co-founder Ken Levine has confirmed that BioShock Infinite is out today on PS3 with a launch video trailer below!

Well, it's pencils down time at Irrational Games.

Our goal has always been to make the player a participant in our games. The worlds of Rapture and Columbia are dripping with detail and story.

Combat is full of player-driven options. We don't want you to observe Booker DeWitt as he fights his way through BioShock Infinite. We want you to be him.

BioShock Infinite's city of Columbia is a place of mystery, danger and action. And after nearly five years of building it, I'm proud to tell you it no longer belongs to Irrational Games. It belongs to gamers.
