124w ago - Following in the same direction as KaKaRoToKS PS3 Custom Firmware now utilizing PlayStation 3 PUP files, today Cyberskunk has updated PS3 Rebug Retail to Debug Firmware to 3.41E Beta v1.0.1.

INSTALL through XMB no jailbreak needed

UNINSTALL through XMB with Retail 3.41 update file

KNOWN BUG: When exiting from a BD/DVD or GAME when NOT in JB mode the PS3 will restart..

This only occurs when the PS3 is NOT jailbroken and NO data is lost when it happens.. I am trying to fix the issue now but thought that since it is a beta people that haven’t can at least preview Rebug and if the bug is too annoying simply update back to retail without losing any saves, game data, etc..

NOTE: It is recommended that users of the previous Rebug pack install DO NOT update with this as it will install the the annoying exit bug mentioned above.. 125w ago - After many hours and sleepless nights we present to you a Beta release of Rebug 3.41E for PS3! This has been the hard work of Cyberskunk and this project is his baby.

Rebug beta WILL NOT have the 'PSN Quick Signup' enabled.

The only thing it does at the moment is connect and enable chat and console activation (Console activation is useless without access to PSN content).. It would be a waste for the feature to be shot down before it was actually useful to anyone by everyone creating and signing in and out of Quick Signup and getting noticed...

This is a direct quote from Cyberskunk:

A) An attempt to build a Debug/Retail PS3 firmware with the full features of both

Q) Does it need to be 'Jailbroken'
A) Yes. It has it's own payload. But not to use the 'Debug Settings' menu. That is always available.

I have finally decided that 'Rebug 3.41E' is in good enough shape for a beta release so here it is.

At the moment it has all 'Retail PS3' features running except PSN. So installing 'Rebug 3.41E' will not break anything infact you can play...

125w ago - Cyberskunk has been working around the clock and has made major progress- today we bring to you pictures and confirmation that the Quick Signup PS3 Debug option is actually working on a Retail PlayStation 3 console with Rebug!

There are plenty of other PS3 debug features working, but I won't get into that right now

I have blurred out the username from the quick signup to protect the account because $ony will know the password.

I'm sure this will piss off a few devs seeing that they would not like to see retail consoles converted to debugs, but that's the nature of the game

129w ago - Today we have for you a video that shows off the work of Cyberskunk in a PS3 Retail to Debug WIP Project dubbed Codename: Rebug!

He has been working on turning a retail console into a debug console through the use of firmware loader. The reason we are sharing this now is to show that it is nearly complete.

Most of this work has been done for quite some time just not shared with the public, but seeing its nearly complete you will get a preview of things to come. Once we have our full debug dumps you can expect 100% debug features on a retail console (currently we only have partial dumps).

I have left a few things out in the video that I will take screenshots of like *check although we have it enabled its grayed out, also auto download is now gone just like a TEST unit.

We will keep you posted as we make more progress in the coming days. Please do not ask when we will release this because we ourselves don't know when it will be finished.
