112w ago - Just a quick heads-up to everyone, starting this weekend (not an April 1st joke) we will begin upgrading the vB3 Forums we currently use to vBulletin 4, and through the transition there will be some scheduled downtime while our server cat works his magic!
Once the vB4 upgrade itself is complete, we will undergo another few weeks of work with some minor downtime while porting the remaining modules to vB4, followed by implementing some of your 2011 suggestions to our site. If you have any feel free to contribute them to the thread and we will do our best to make it happen.
Additionally, we are currently seeking a new site logo- if you are a graphic artist and would like to share some design concepts check out this ongoing thread... if we end up selecting one posted we will send the artist a $100 PayPal gift to express our appreciation.
Thanks to everyone who has shared their PS3 News site suggestions and logo designs to date, and we look forward to checking out new ones as time permits!
126w ago - Today Electronic Arts Community Coordinator Eduardo Vasconcellos has shared news and special PS3 offers from EA this week.
To quote: Battlefield Bad Company 2: Tomorrow's the day all our amazing PlayStation 3 fans can get their hands on Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Vietnam for the very first time.
This expansion pack to Battlefield: Bad Company 2 adds new maps, weapons, vehicles and trophies, all set to some of the most iconic tunes of the Vietnam-era, making for one dynamic tour of duty.
Along with all of this great content comes a challenge to you, our PlayStation 3 audience, directly from Battlefield developer DICE called The Battle for Hastings.
This challenge asks players to complete 69 million support actions within Battlefield: Bad Company 2 and Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Vietnam, which will unlock the fifth map to be found in the expansion, Operation Hastings.
Get ready to do your part in The Battle for Hastings and download Battlefield: Bad Company 2 for the PlayStation 3 on 22 December! And while you're at it, take advantage of our newly dropped prices on Onslaught (now €4.99), Shortcut Kit (€14.99), and, in case you haven't picked up the variety of multiplayer maps through our VIP Pass,...
194w ago - Well, I hinted at it last week, that we were getting something BIG, and yeah- we did!
It retails for $10,250.00, weighs in around 45lbs, is around 19" wide and 24" deep. If you have not guessed it yet, it's a PS3 TOOL, also known as a PS3 Reference Kit, also known as the DECR-1000A.
This unit is the big brother to the new DECR-1400A, and has many more features than the newer, neutered counterpart. Most of them are outlined in my recently updated thread, but the jist of it is that it has dual 400GB hard disks, dual HDMI outputs, 4x LAN connectors, analog audio output, VGA output - just to name a few.
Compared to a PS3 Debug/TEST unit, the PS3 TOOL can do MUCH more, including diagnosing exactly what is happening when perceived "exploit" code is run to crash/hang the PS3. However, the biggest feature is having the ability...
