62w ago - Nihilistic Software Designer D. Reed Monroe has revealed today on Sony's blog details on the Resistance: Burning Skies multiplayer game mode for the PS Vita console alongside a video below.
To quote: We at Nihilistic Software are excited to finally be able to pull the wraps off Multiplayer for Resistance: Burning Skies, coming May 29th for PlayStation Vita!
In addition to its all-new single player campaign, Burning Skies features an online (via Wi-Fi) multiplayer in which you and up to seven of your friends can compete over PlayStation Network!
We know you've all been asking about multiplayer in Burning Skies, so please enjoy the first look at it in this new trailer!
When designing Resistance: Burning Skies, our goal was to bring a high-quality console experience to a handheld, and thanks to the power of the Vita, we've ended up with an unprecedented mobile FPS. Experience the dual analog sticks for precision aiming, touch screen interactivity for precise and quick secondary weapon fires, and portable online connectivity.
We've just showcased that game at an event in NYC, showing off some of the cool things we're doing with online:
63w ago - Naughty Dog Community Strategist Eric Monacelli announced today that a new Uncharted 3 New Drake's Deception PS3 Multiplayer Map Pack is incoming and will arrive on Tuesday with some video footage below.
To quote: You camped out on your favorite ledges to earn the kickoff medal on the Highrise and Yemen maps. You've mastered sniping fools that run carelessly through the Desert Village and Airstrip.
You've perfected your ninja stealth kills in the secluded nooks and crannies of the London Underground and City of Brass. Okay, maybe you haven't perfected any of that yet.
Maybe you're just looking for something different and new. Whether you're a rugged UNCHARTED 3 multiplayer fortune hunter or a causal explorer, this trailer should get you amped for Tuesday's new multiplayer map pack.
Four all-new UNCHARTED 3 multiplayer maps will be available for download on Tuesday, April 10th on PS Store. The Graveyard map sets you in motion as you fight among ships and shipping crates on rolling waves.
Old Quarter seems like a lovely scene on a cool Yemen night, but it's full of dangerous alleys and dimly lit rooms. The bar, the back alleys and the broadways of the London Streets map offer some prime...
65w ago - Sony Senior Producer Harvard Bonin has announced today that Starhawk is bringing back splitscreen head-to-head and co-op multiplayer action on the PlayStation 3 entertainment system!
To quote: As most Warhawk players know, there's nothing quite like "couch gaming!" That is to say, playing video games on the same TV with a friend.
Lots of games have it: Games like Dance Today, Dance Forever, Dance 2 Dance, Dance Dancy Dance, or even Dance Your Self Esteem Away. Dancing is fine and all, but there's nothing that can quite replace the thrill of fragging the buddy sitting next to you - especially if he's being a lame hillbilly (deep, deep love of shotguns).
In Warhawk, you could play with some friends in the same room and have a proper night of gaming: Face to face and frag to frag while sharing nachos, smack talk, and profanity. Good times!
So we're happy to let you know that Starhawk has the exact same feature! OK...not the EXACT same feature. We've spent some time making it better, we think.
Two-Player Split Screen:
Yes, we've got splitscreen play. You can play with another friend on the same PS3 on the same TV. We are very aware that some of you wanted four-player splitscreen like Warhawk.
66w ago - Insomniac Games CEO Ted Price has announced today that the Ratchet & Clank Collection for PS3 is going 1080p with multiplayer included!
To quote: It's amazing that it's been almost 10 years since the release of the original Ratchet & Clank on PlayStation 2.
A lot has changed since 2002, but your loyalty to our furry Lombax and his faithful robot companion has endured. As we reach the 10th Anniversary of Ratchet & Clank, we wanted to commemorate the achievements of the Ratchet & Clank saga.
Today, we're delighted to announce the Ratchet & Clank 10th Anniversary Celebration, which also simultaneously addresses the biggest current request from our fans: The Ratchet & Clank Collection. This will contain Ratchet & Clank, Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando, and Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal - all remastered by Idol Minds, working closely with our team at Insomniac Games.
In addition to a full 1080p HD remaster (720p stereoscopic 3D support) of all three games and the inclusion of three Platinum Trophies, we're happy to confirm that the online competitive multiplayer from Up Your Arsenal will be included. Now you can check out the acclaimed multiplayer mode that many of you didn't get to experience the first time on PS2.
68w ago - Killzone Community Editor Victor Zuylen has announced that the standalone Killzone 3 multiplayer hits PSN today, and also confirmed for fans that this will be a Double XP weekend as well!
To quote: To celebrate Killzone 3's first anniversary, we're releasing a standalone version of the game's online component on PlayStation Store today.
Dubbed "Killzone 3 Multiplayer," it includes the Guerrilla Warfare, Warzone, and Operations game modes, as well as the original Killzone 3 maps and all Killzone 3 DLC maps.
Best of all, it's free to try - you can play any of the maps and modes until you reach the rank of Sergeant I.
If you want to keep playing, attain higher ranks, and earn any of Killzone 3 Multiplayer's four exclusive new Trophies, you can unlock the full version for only $15. Doing so will net you a 24-hour double XP bonus, three free unlock points, the ability to set up clans and custom games, and access to the Botzone mode to help hone your combat skills.
For those who already own Killzone 3 (or decide to purchase the full version of Killzone 3 Multiplayer), we have another anniversary treat: this weekend will be Double XP Weekend!...
