Video: Zipper Unveils SOCOM 4: PS3 Multiplayer Map First Looks

50°
172w ago - Zipper Interactive Senior Community Manager Jeremy Dunham has shared some new video footage today of the SOCOM 4: PS3 Multiplayer Map.

To quote: Today's the day that players who nabbed SOCOM 4: U.S. Navy SEALs Multiplayer Beta vouchers in copies of Killzone 3 or at PAX East 2011 can now redeem their early access codes!

In celebration, we wanted to give you a sneak peek at two SOCOM 4 multiplayer maps that haven't really been seen outside of Zipper Interactive yet - Von Heine Express and Cesspool!

Von Heine Express was actually one of the last MP maps we finished; the idea behind it was to create an environment that captured the spirit of our classic SOCOM II map, Fox Hunt, but was built on the themes of SOCOM 4 and made for great sniping scenarios.

Set on the coast of Southeast Asia in a makeshift military base that comes complete abandoned train cars, Von Heine Express is a favorite here at Zipper and has only been seen publicly once - at [Register or Login to view links] where it was part of that event's SOCOM 4 Championship Tournament. Check out the video below for a flythrough!

Another map that we're happy to unveil is Cesspool. Cesspool was one of the earliest MP maps developed...

Video: Nintendo 64 - N64 Emulator on PS3 Alpha First Look

1300°
177w ago - We are a team of 3 guys who have been working on a Nintendo 64 emulator for quite some time now, and we have decided to go out with the news since now our N64 emulator is officially working on the PS3.

We still have a huge load of things to work on, but it's playable and N64 is finally working on the PS3.

What we have done so far:

  • 1 player (keyboard only)
  • We have succeeded to enable gameshark codes
  • Graphics works excellent on most games we have tried; Mario 64, Donkey Kong 64, Ridge Racer 64, Diddy Kong Racer, Mario Kart 64, Banjo Kazooie and 1080 Snowboard.
  • Games we have tried that are jerky (so far): Duke Nukem 64, Doom 64, Hexen 64 and WCW Smackdown 64.

Issues (we are working on):

  • Audio is not working yet.
  • A user interface and the ability to edit and change files such as controller settings, cheat codes, etc. (We do all this over FTP now).
  • Game menu (we now have to upload one game at the time).
  • PS3 controller, (we now have to use a USB keyboard).
  • Multiplayer.

We have decided to use ps3news and youtube to communicate with you guys, and if you want to help us out, feel free to either email us at n64onps3@gmail.com or PM us on youtube.

To quote: EyePet first made its way into living rooms and melted hearts across North America in September, when it was introduced for the PS3 alongside the PlayStation Move.

In stores for the PSP starting today, EyePet is now able to explore the outside world! Using a PSP camera and Magic Card, both included with the game, your furry little buddy is now totally portable and capable of being your loyal companion no matter where you go.

Here're some things you should know in order to get acquainted with this cute little critter:

Video: Slambolt Scrappers on PSN - Not What It Looks Like

50°
195w ago - Sony Social Media Manager Jeff Rubenstein has shared a video dubbed 'Not What It Looks Like' today showcasing Slambolt Scrappers on PSN.

To quote: At first glance, Slambolt Scrappers appears to be a puzzle game, but that's only partially correct. It's also part brawler, part strategy, and really, really frenetic in multiplayer.

And despite the familiar appearance of the pieces you're, um, scrapping over - this ain't no Tetris. Recently we met with Eitan Glinert of [Register or Login to view links], so he could better explain how this upcoming PSN exclusive plays.

Hopefully you now have a better idea of why this genre-mashing game is [Register or Login to view links]. Look for it in early 2011.
