17w ago - Tate Interactive GM Wojtek Bilinski has announced today alongside a video trailer that Urban Trial Freestyle Racing is soon to hit both PSN and PS Vita platforms.
To quote: There are motorcycle arcade style games out there already, and although many are really fun (everybody remembers Elastomania!) most of them lack depth.
So with Urban Trial Freestyle, we decided to add high-quality graphics and a modern social experience to the gameplay to bring this genre to a whole new level.
We wanted Urban Trial Freestyle to provide players with the highest level of competition as possible, so we are including about 100 different leaderboards. Players can compare their best score and best time depending on two different game modes.
For example, in stunt mode, players can compete to be named "Best Stuntman" on every track. There are 20 tracks, and five kinds of stunts to perform on each track - and each one of them has its own leaderboard - all making Urban Trial Freestyle more unique and more competitive!
Arcade games are great for quick competitions so we also gave Time Attack mode a boost by storing the ghost of the best player on PlayStation Network so everyone can challenge him/her (it's possible to choose worldwide best player or best amongst your friends).
21w ago - Just Add Water CEO Stewart Gilray has announced that Munch's Oddysee HD officially hits PSN today!
Below are the details, to quote: Munch the Gabbit is now in HD! The team at Just Add Water, with help from the programming staff at Four Door Lemon, worked hard over the last 18 months to bring you an updated version of Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee on PS3.
Gamers met the crazy planet of Oddworld back on the original PlayStation, with Abe's Oddysee and Abe's Exoddus quickly becoming classics.
If you played those games, you'll remember the reluctant hero's destiny to rescue his fellow Mudokons from corporate slavery at the hands of Glukkon Companies Rupture Farms and SoulStorm Brewery.
Munch first burst onto our screens in 2002 (on that other console that sounds like egg-fox), following in the footsteps of the now-classic Abe games. Another reluctant hero, the diminutive Munch, is the last of his kind.
His mission: To escape from the evil Vykkers Labs, save all the lab animals and liberate a can of Gabbiar, using the eggs to get his species going again. All with the help of Abe, of course!
We have no doubt that one look at these screenshots will bring all those childhood memories rushing back. Just don't cry on...
22w ago - Activision Publishing Producer Matt Hohl has confirmed that an Angry Birds Trilogy: Anger Management Pack hits PSN today, with details below as follows:
Greetings, PlayStationeers! The holidays are just around the corner, and if you're anything like us, you'll have a bit of free time on your hands to relax on the couch and curl up with a nice video game.
That's why we're flinging you all the details for the first DLC for Angry Birds Trilogy, landing on the PlayStation Network on December 18th.
The Anger Management pack lets you pop the pigs across 130 additional levels from some of our favorite Angry Birds and Angry Birds Seasons episodes, including Birdday Party, Ham 'O' Ween, Wreck the Halls, Year of the Dragon, Cherry Blossom, and Piglantis. It also features full PlayStation Move support and, yes, adds new trophies to the game.
A new playable character joins your flock in this collection, as well - the Orange Bird. Don't judge this small bird by its feathers, because Orange Bird packs a walloping surprise. His special power lets him rapidly expand up to a massive size, shoving aside nearby enemies and obstacles!
All of this is in addition to the new cutscenes, unique animated backgrounds, and hundreds of levels and hours of gameplay already caged within...
22w ago - Sega of America Associate Brand Manager Aaron Webber has announced that Sonic & All-Stars Racing hits PS Vita today, inviting fans to nab bonus DLC.
To quote: Why hello there, PS Vita owners! We heard you guys were hungry for an awesome multiplayer Vita racing game... and we're here to deliver. Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed hits PS Vita today, and we're super-excited to share the game with all of you!
The game is out now both in stores and also on PlayStation Store. As you can probably guess, the game also isn't your average kart racer. The reason we have that fancy "Transformed" in the name is because your vehicle is going to transform in every single race: from a car to a boat to a plane!
My last few blogs here revealed quite a few old school Sega fans, so it's worth noting that the entire roster is essentially a love letter to gamers. Beyond your traditional Sonic cast, we've included the triumphant return of Vyse from Skies of Arcadia (a personal favorite of mine), Gilius from Golden Axe, NiGHTS, and many more. We've even got Wreck-it Ralph included as a playable character. (Don't worry, though - he's not going Turbo.)
One of the things I personally like most about the races is that "Transformed" doesn't just apply to your vehicles. It applies to the tracks, too!...
22w ago - Vice President of Development for Creat Studios Scott Hyman shared a video today reminding fans that Labyrinth Legends hits PlayStation Network tomorrow.
To quote: Hey again, PlayStation faithful! Scott here from Creat Studios to remind you all that our next PlayStation Network game, Labyrinth Legends, comes out tomorrow in North America.
Everyone here is very excited to bring you our new fast-paced, quirky, addictive, hackin' and slashin' dungeon crawling adventure.
We've packed tons of hidden treasure and weapons, concealed traps, tricky puzzles, mummies, zombies and monsters into those ancient tombs to give you your $9.99 worth. Enjoy spanning the globe and unearthing the buried wealth of long-lost civilizations.
You'll discover a few fun twists, such as the professor companion to your daring adventurer. He's an important part of solving some brain teasers, but he does have a tendency to wander off into trouble. Be sure to keep an eye on him.
What if lone adventuring isn't enough? Labyrinth Legends features three different local multiplayer modes for up to four players. Plus leaderboards and full Trophy support, too.
And here's something new. We're running a fan art contest. Check out our blog...
