Video: No Man's Sky on PS4: The Ambitions of Hello Games

50°
4w ago - Sony Blog Manager Fred Dutton revealed the ambitions of Hello Games in No Man's Sky on PS4 today complete with a PlayStation 4 video trailer below.

To quote: One of the undisputed highlights of our E3 2014 media briefing was the moment when Hello Games' visibly nervous Sean Murray clambered on stage to show off No Man's Sky, his team's remarkable open-universe, science fiction epic which will debut on PS4.

As you'll hopefully have ascertained in the press coverage since (and in Sean's blog post), there's extraordinary ambition on display here, especially given the size of the Hello team, and it was no surprise that it was arguably the buzz game of the show.

48 hours after his moment under the E3 spotlight, we were lucky enough to sit down with Sean and learn the story behind Hello's journey from humble beginnings in Guildford, UK to the biggest stage in gaming, surviving natural disasters in the process.

Not only that but he also laid bare his mind-boggling vision for what No Man's Sky will be. Trust me, this one is well worth a watch...

Video: The Legend of Korra PS4: PlatinumGames Joins the Avatar

50°
4w ago - Sony Social Media Specialist Ryan Clements shared a video today announcing that PlatinumGames joins the Avatar in The Legend of Korra on PS4 below.

To quote: It's no easy task to adapt the critically acclaimed animated series The Legend of Korra into a third-person action game. The beloved show fuses martial arts, varying philosophies and world cultures, and an exquisite story that follows in the footsteps of Avatar: The Last Airbender.

What better studio to take up the challenge than PlatinumGames (Bayonetta, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance)? The team has spent years meticulously crafting combat systems that marry style and substance into a visual maelstrom of fast, addictive action.

And with Platinum's knowledge of martial arts choreography, Korra couldn't be in better hands. Revealed just yesterday, The Legend of Korra is coming to PS4 and PS3 this year. And we got to play it.

The Legend of Korra follows our rough-around-the-edges-but-ever-so-charming hero after the events of Book Two, but before the start of the upcoming Book Three.

For those unfamiliar with the Avatar universe, Korra is the latest incarnation of a long, long line of peacekeepers meant to preserve order between four...

Bamtang Games: Kilka Card Gods on PS Vita: The Peruvian Influence

50°
4w ago - Bamtang Games Creative Director Adam Johnston detailed the Peruvian influence in Kilka Card Gods on PS Vita below today.

To quote: Have you had a chance to play Kilka Card Gods yet? The latest game from our studio, Bamtang Games, was released on June 10th for PS Vita - the first ever self-published launch by a Latin American game development studio on the PlayStation platform.

Needless to say, we're all excited here! Kilka Card Gods is the result of several years of development efforts, and we're extremely happy that one of our games is paving the way for more games developed in Peru and Latin America to be released for PlayStation.

We're especially proud about Kilka Card Gods because the game has been an opportunity for us to portray many elements from Peruvian culture. There are few games that have included Peru as part of their narrative, and in most cases, developers haven't paid much attention to the way Peru and its culture were presented in their games.

With Kilka, we set out to change that and show that things could be done differently - that the richness of Peruvian culture could be accurately and elegantly captured in a way that borrows from tradition while at the same time crafting new stories and characters that players could fall in love with.
