Disgaea 4 is Coming to PS Vita, NISA 2014 Lineup Detailed

50°
27w ago - Sony Social Media Specialist Ryan Clements detailed the NISA 2014 lineup today confirming that Disgaea 4 is indeed coming to PS Vita.

To quote: Last night, the small but spunky team at NIS America reminded downtown San Francisco of its dedication to quirky JRPGs and unusual adventures.

Sporting matching white and blue "Dood" jerseys, the team presented its lineup for 2014 at a local venue, with a little help from a torrent of teaser trailers. Anime in-jokes, self-referential dialogue, and explosions of color dominated the multimedia showcase, staying true to NISA's tradition of catering to otaku culture.

The evening began with NIS President Souhei Niikawa - donning a regal [Register or Login to view links] - thanking members of the press for their continued support. Niikawa also revealed that NIS is working on a PS4 game that would enjoy a proper announcement at this year's Tokyo Game Show.

His brief but humble wishes were followed with a host of trailers, each representing one of NISA's projects for the year.

28w ago - Sony's Jawad Ashraf of the PlayStation Store Team is here with this weeks European PSN Game Store updates below, which include Outlast, Dustforce and Surge Deluxe leading the way.

To quote: It's not often these days that we're treated to a few scares here and there in our games. That changes today with the arrival of Outlast for PS4. Dark, narrow corridors.

Eerie silhouettes in the far distance. You wonder what lurks behind the corner and BAM! You just soiled yourself.

On a much less scary front is Surge Deluxe, a new and improved version of developer Futurlab's acclaimed PlayStation Mobile game. Surge takes popular match-three gameplay and adds an electrifying twist for added depth and bright results. See where you can place on the online leaderboards.

There's more too, including brand new clean 'em up Dustforce, the second episode of The Wolf Among Us, an open beta for high-flying Ace Combat Infinity and a range of great discounts in our new February sale that begins today.

Rumor: PS Vita Slim Set for Release in Europe and North America?

50°
30w ago - IGN reports that Sony has invited press to an exclusive breakfast briefing with PlayStation next Thursday, January 30th, where it is rumored that they will unveil a PS Vita Slim (or perhaps a PS Vita TV international release) for Europe and North American regions.

The invitation (below) reads, to quote: "You are invited to an exclusive breakfast briefing with PlayStation.

Following the biggest launch in PlayStation history, join us for an introduction to the slimmest.

When: Thursday 30th January 2014 | 09:00-11:00"

The PS Vita Slim is already available in Japan, and is 20 percent thinner than the existing model, as well as being 15 percent lighter.

It does away with the OLED screen for a 5-inch LCD display, which helps the battery to supposedly last up to an hour longer. The Japanese one is available in six different colors too, though we've yet to see if that's replicated in the west.

Of course the announcement could be about something else entirely, but the Vita Slim seems to be the sensible option, especially given the new appeal the handheld has thanks to the PS4's remote play functionality.

Having only just launched the PS4, it's exceedingly unlikely that Sony would announced a slim version of the console right now as they traditionally...
