Video: Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One Up Your Arsenal PS3 Gameplay

200°
164w ago - Sony Computer Entertainment America Product Marketing Specialist Derek Osgood has posted up a new gameplay video today spotlighting Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One - Up Your Arsenal with These Tools of Destruction.

To quote: The first thing that comes to mind when most people think of Ratchet & Clank (aside from Qwark's dashing good-looks and unflappable courage) is the incredible arsenal of weaponry.

The Insomniac Games team has always prided themselves on delivering out-of-this-world weaponry that gives you all kinds of wacky ways to turn your enemies into space dust.

In honor of that long lineage of weaponry, we're kicking off our gameplay video series with four videos highlighting the weapons you'll find in Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One.

Check out this first video in the series and get a look at the Combuster, Darkstar Fission Tether, Warmonger, and Thundersmack in action.

Don't forget to keep checking back here for the rest of our Gameplay Series as we highlight a different aspect of All 4 One with each video, including the rest of the game's unique weapons!

Call of Duty: Black Ops Annihilation DLC Hits PSN, Domination Tips

164w ago - Activision Social Media Manager Dan Amrich has confirmed that Call of Duty: Black Ops Annihilation PS3 DLC is now live on PSN and shared some domination tips for fans below.

To quote: Annihilation - the third pack of DLC maps for Call of Duty: Black Ops - comes to the PlayStation 3.

The DLC offers four new multiplayer arenas and a new jungle-based Zombies survival experience in Shangri-Li.

In celebration of the big release, developer [Register or Login to view links] has deemed that the double XP will flow all weekend long. I'll be hosting a [Register or Login to view links] this Friday night to soak some of that up myself, and my favorite game type is Domination.

Truth be told, I'm not that good a shot, so objective-based modes like this one let me help the team and keep leveing up even if I'm nowhere near the top of the K/D ratios.

In that spirit, I wanted to offer some tips for the four new maps. I don't know if we'll meet up on the same team or on opposite sides of a red dot sight, but I'm willing to take that risk in the name of having fun...

Drive In

I like this map a lot. Snipers perched in the projection room and in the screen will no doubt trade...

Nvidia FXAA Enabled for PS3 Games via HD Capture Card and PC

164w ago - Today [Register or Login to view links] has shared how to enable Nvidia's [Register or Login to view links] for PS3 Games using [Register or Login to view links] with an [Register or Login to view links] and PC.

To quote: Some PC gamers (myself included) like to go on about the huge image quality advantages of playing on PCs. Now, your PC can actually improve the visual quality of console-exclusive games! (outside of emulation)

I've previously posted about the small program PtBi that I use to display 360 and PS3 games. Today I added the ability to use NVidia's FXAA - thanks to them for releasing the code to the public domain and making it easy to integrate.

For those that are unaware, FXAA is a post-processing method that tries to reduce the amount of aliasing artifacts (think pixel staircase) in an image. It's similar to MLAA in that aspect. Like all post-processing methods that act purely on image data, it has some drawbacks:

- It can't handle subpixel aliasing well. (Unlike most similar methods, it at least tries to reduce it though)
- Sometimes aliasing may be detected incorrectly,...

Hands-on with LittleBigPlanet 2's PlayStation Move PS3 Pack

50°
164w ago - Today Sony Senior Social Media Specialist Sid Shuman went hands-on with LittleBigPlanet 2's PlayStation Move PS3 Pack, with all the details below as follows:

Formally announced at PlayStation's E3 2011 press conference, the upcoming PlayStation Move Pack for LittleBigPlanet 2 will greatly expand the game's already prodigious creation suite and add countless new gameplay variants.

Based on my hands-on time, PlayStation Move support radically evolves the gameplay possibilities of LittleBigPlanet 2, whether it's flinging and manipulating objects using the new Brain Crane power-up, creating outlandish Move-focused minigames from scratch, or animating characters and props by recording your PlayStation Move gestures.

"It's the biggest update we've ever done," Media Molecule's Level Design Lead Kengo Kurimoto told me during a guided tour of the update last week in New York City.

When the Move Pack hits PSN this September, LBP2 owners will find six new Story levels in a Move-focused mini-campaign that picks up where LBP2 left off. One of the most significant gameplay enhancements comes as a potent new power-up called the Brain Crane.

Like a telepathic revamp of the Power Gloves, the Brain Crane enables Sackboy to pick up and manipulate objects with nothing but...

European PSN Game Store Updates for July 27, 2011

50°
164w ago - Today Ross McGrath of SCEE's PlayStation Store Team has revealed this weeks European PSN updates, as follows:

A few new PS3 titles for you this week - leading the charge is the hotly anticipated Section 8: Prejudice, fresh from a tour of duty on the other platform and raring to go on PSN.

And what's more, for this week only you'll be able to purchase Section 8: Prejudice with both of its DLC packs included at no extra cost - grab this deal while you can as it'll be gone before you know it.

Plus members get a little something extra too, as James previously mentioned, not only will Plus consumers get an exclusive in-game unlock but the first 1000 Plus members who are opted in for email who buy the game will get a free copy of the original Section 8!

What else this week? You can take your pick between a relaxing few holes on the minigolf course or defending your neighbourhood from bloodthirsty zombies - I appreciate that's not an easy decision.

Four PSP titles also take the plunge and move to Essentials today, so it's a great time to grab a bargain on one of these Disney games - we've also permanently reduced the price of the DLC for both Hannah Montana and Toy Story 3.

The LA Noire avatars make an appearance this week too, alongside...
