In it you'll find more footage on combat, augmentations, in-game menus, and upgrade trees than we've ever publicly shown. If you pay attention, you might even sneak a peek at our hacking mini-game and a weapon modification that toys with the term "hand cannon."
And to those of you who think you've seen everything after watching the leaked footage (yeah, we know it exists...), to quote legendary Canadian rock group Bachman Turner Overdrive, "you ain't seen nothin' yet."
In other news, I'm pleased to announce that I and other members of the studio are presently readying content to distribute specifically to this great blog.
After spending four challenging but passionate years developing a sequel to one of the most revered videogames of all-time, everyone involved can't wait to talk. We're very, very excited, and we hope you are too. See you all soon!
130w ago - A few days back we reported on the PS JailBreak Downgrade file leak, and today Hansi of PSXCare.com (linked above) has followed up on some previous work and shared a video of a PS3 downgrading with PS Downgrade and a Beagle 480 USB protocol analyzer.
130w ago - Today Senior Vice President Peter Dille of Marketing & PlayStation Network has shared a new GT5 PS3 promo video with Kevin Butler entitled It Only Does Revolutionary Racing Experiences.
To quote: In just six short days, the franchise that revolutionized the racing category as we know it will be making its exclusive debut on PlayStation 3. Gran Turismo 5 will be racing onto store shelves this coming Wednesday, November 24.
This highly anticipated installment will no doubt raise the bar on the franchise's unparalleled graphics, presentation and gameplay - bringing you an experience so life-like you'll find it hard to distinguish from a live race.
While we think features such as the all-new Course Maker, an expansive online racing community built right in, stereoscopic 3D compatibility and more than 1,000 cars from the world's top manufacturers, including karts and select NASCAR cars, speak for themselves, we still couldn't resist giving one of our most anticipated and loved franchises the "Kevin Butler" treatment.
In this latest ad, we find Kevin Butler taking a call from a devoted Gran Turismo fan anxiously waiting for...
130w ago - We've seen the GT5 unboxing with some Gran Turismo 5 Signature Edition pictures, and today GamersMint.com (linked above) confirms via amar212 at GTPlanet.net that Gran Turismo 5 has an optional 40-minute 6.4GB PS3 HDD installation with the US game being reported as 19.4GB (20,882,698,502 bytes) with the EU version coming in at 13.72GB in size.
To quote: "The initial install size of Gran Turismo 5 on your PS3 HDD is going to be 6.4 GB. He also revealed that it takes about 40 minutes to install.
However, interestingly, he says that the game will continue to install and decompress data throughout the course of your playtime and the actual disk space taken by the game on your PS3 will be a lot more.
Kindly note that this installation is optional and you can play the game without doing this. It only requires 256 MB of your HDD if you decide against doing it but it's highly...
SynaPS3 is a simple library for people using the Sony PS3 Cell SDK, primarily made for making applications universally compatible with payloads, to help extend and improve existing functions for homebrew, and to add new functions.
Documentation for SynaPS3 is on github. Some of the most notable features of SynaPS3 included syscall36 compatibility on ALL PL3 payloads, and syscall35 compatibility on Hermes v3 and Hermes v4 payloads. To integrate these compatibility fixes it's as simple as opening the source of an existing program, removing the syscall35/syscall36 functions, and including SynaPS3!
SynaPS3 also has functions to help save you time while coding, such as ReadFirmwareVersion, IsBlurayGame, Firmware342Fix, and more.
SynaPS3 is nowhere near where we want it to be yet. This is only the beginning. SynaPS3 aims to become a full library, with PS3 dialogs and full PNG output.
