141w ago - Recently Graf_Chokolo revealed that he is working on a PS3 3.55 HV CFW, which will have dual boot Linux built in.
To quote from Dukio: I plan to implement dual boot feature in HV, just like i did on my PS3 3.41, and you can boot with it either gameos or linux or some other system like freebsd. You won’t need any bootos on gameos for that. I will also patch HV and enable more features
I will do it on PS3 slim, first i will resize HDD and add a partition for Linux there
Expect more features coming in as the HV patching continues. Oh, and he is working on a 3.55 FW only at the moment, although on the newer firmware versions is possible according to graf.
Now for 3.55, on other version offsets are different so the code is the same but offsets to patch are different.
When ask about the progress of his lawsuit and if he requires more legal funds, graf_chokolo had to say this:
It's very slow, for now it’s enough i think, thanks.
I have no huge news yet regarding lawsuit but soon I think I will have.

141w ago - Sony's Senior Social Media Specialist Sid Shuman has posted up a video today where Ed Boon and Stig entertain Kratos vs Mortal Kombat on PS3.
To quote: The first time we saw him we thought, 'Oh my God, what a great Mortal Kombat character he would make.'
Ed Boon is very excited. The Mortal Kombat creative director and co-creator can finally spill his guts regarding one of the most anticipated video-game crossovers of all time: Kratos' exclusive guest appearance in the PS3 version of Mortal Kombat.
"We kind of felt it was meant to happen," he says. "We think we've done Kratos justice."
Ed Boon and God of War III director Stig Asmussen don't remember who made the first phone call, but both recall the Kratos crossover talks starting early in Mortal Kombat's development cycle. "I remember somebody saying, ''hey, there might be this possibility of Kratos appearing in Mortal Kombat,'" Stig remembers.
"I said, ' You gotta be kidding me, we gotta make this happen! Let's get on the phone.'" Describing himself as a "huge God of War fan," Boon was all too eager to work out the details and spark a larger collaborative effort between both studios.
142w ago - Today Myce.com (linked above) interviewed PS3 hacker KaKaRoToKS, who states that a PS3 Firmware 3.60 solution is indeed coming after reports and videos of a 3.60 JailBreak running code circulated last week.
Below is the the KaKaRoToKS interview in full, to quote:
What are your thoughts on the recent PS3 3.60 firmware cracking video that was uploaded and removed over the course of a day last week? Many dubbed it fake and said it was a debug PS3, but when we chatted with the guy who uploaded it he defended it as real and said it was a retail unit.
I’ve seen the videos, and I also talked to the people who did it. Whether it’s fake or not, I cannot tell as I have not been authorized by the authors to divulge what they did. All I can say is that they said they would never release it, so whether it’s fake or not has no importance, since in the end no one will have access to it.
However, as I’ve said to a few people on Twitter, the hack that was used on 3.55 and lower was unique and Sony fixed it. So, that’s...
