JFW DH PS3 CFW Delay, Custom Firmware to Support 3.7+ Games

170w ago - Today Spanish PlayStation 3 developer DemonHades has announced that the upcoming JFW DH PS3 CFW has been delayed, however, the Custom Firmware is now said to support 3.7+ games!

To quote, roughly translated: Well as the title says demons, DH JFW will suffer a delay in its launch date for several reasons, including that one of the devs in charge of openpstore this very busy with college, the other manager's manager suffered plugins a sporting accident and has his hand in plaster (blipi) so it works much more slowly.

Without the plugin manager can not control Thegra plugins, and without the openpstore can not be connected to the platform JFW updates for the DH.

RSXGL - The RSX Graphics Library for PS3 is Now Available

170w ago - Following up on previous news and the PS3 Linux kernel module, this weekend PlayStation 3 developer gzorin (aka Alexander Betts) has made available RSXGL - the RSX Graphics Library for PS3.

To quote: RSXGL - The RSX Graphics Library

This library implements parts of the OpenGL 3.1 core profile specification for the PlayStation 3's RSX GPU. It's suitable for use in programs that have exclusive access to the RSX, such as GameOS software (and is likely unsuitable for implementing a multitasking desktop, as the library
doesn't arbitrate access to the RSX).

Please see the STATUS file for up-to-date information about the current capabilities of this library.

Briefly, the following OpenGL 3.1 features haven't been implemented yet (the RSX is capable of supporting most of them):

  • Full GLSL support. Currently, GLSL and Cg shaders can be compiled offline and used with a OpenGL ES 2 style API.

Disgaea 4 PS3 Japanese Translation - Alpha Version Patcher Out!

170w ago - Here's big update on Disgaea 4 Translation progress.

Today, we (Tidusnake666, Tobster7, Alexmagno) have finally been able to fix dialogues bugs. That means, that apart from some menu entries, the game is all in English text (we decided to exclude sound patching option, because it's still asynched, so you'll have japanese voices - if you don't like them - turn them off )

Yeah, you've read it right, now everyone can enjoy story! Dialogues, items, skills, pretty much everything is translated!

Instructions:

0. Make a backup of your Disgaea 4 JAP game (BLJS-10095), and place it somewhere, preferably on the root of the drive (there's no spacebar nor special chars problems, but it's more convinient this way), i.e - "C:\BLJS10095"

1. Donwload patcher (Pre-beta version) [Register or Login to view links] , extract it somewhere and run D4Trans.exe.

2. Ensure "Translate EBOOT" is checeked and the default START.DAT patching method is checked ("1: Glyphicate all"). Later, if you'll have some troubles you can always repatch it.

3. CLick "START!" and choose location of your Disgaea 4 dump. Patcher has a lot of fool-proff functions, so it won't accidently patch the wrong version...
