Warhammer Online Character Tracking Live

50°
311w ago - From their blog, linked above: You spoke and we listened. As of today, you'll be able to track your Warhammer Online characters in your Raptr profile. Once you enter your character(s), we automatically track your characters' items, levels, and Renown in your feeds for all you friends to see.

So if you hit Level 40 before any of your friends, they'll know about it. Of course, we created a custom module for your characters, so visitors to your profile page can check them out and see how you're doing.

Timezone Support
For those of you not in the Pacific time zone, we've also added a timezone option that will update all charts to reflect your time zone. Simply go to your Account Settings page and select the proper time zone. Now you'll know for sure when your friends around the world are playing Rock Band 2 at midnight in your own time zone.

We've also made some big behind the scenes improvements to our search engine. First, we made the button prettier and easier to understand that you can change what you're searching directly from the header. We made the search engine much faster, so if your friends joined only a little while ago, they should show up in search results in just a few minutes.

Last but not least, we added...

Free Radical asking fans where they want TimeSplitters 4?

50°
313w ago - TimeSplitters 4 could truly end up on any console. The previous TimeSplitters title ended up on the Xbox, PS2, and GameCube, so it is more than likely that Free Radical will follow up with a 360, PS3, and Wii release for TimeSplitters 4.

However, Free Radical wants to know what the fans are interested in - A poll is up and running on the company's Web site and is asking which console people wish to play the next TimeSplitters game on.

As of the time of writing, the Wii is leading the poll with 65% while the PS3 and 360 are trailing with about 15% each.

This poll could end up as being superfluous if Free Radical makes the decision to release TimeSplitters 4 on all platforms, but it would be interesting to know if the results will influence the development of the game in one way or another.

Crytek Seeking PlayStation 3 Programmer

100°
313w ago - Crytek is officially hiring for the PlayStation 3, prompting more speculation (from us) that its hi-tech PC shooter Crysis is heading to console in some form.

A job ad that's appeard on the Germans dev's Web site is advertising for a PS3 console programmer to develop "Next-Generation GameFramework based on CryEngine 2.0".

The applicant must have fives-plus or more years C++ experience and have shipped "at least 1 title for Nintendo GameCube, PS2 or XBOX or simultaneously." What if I've actually made two PS3 games then, is that not good enough to be a PS3 programmer?

The position doesn't come as too much of a surprise as Crytek's already gone on the record saying all of its future titles will be multiplatform from now on.

With that considered, this is probably a move to make CryEngine 2 work on consoles - but we'd still like to see Crysis on PS3, if only so we can run it.

The full job specs follow if you fancy your chances.

Requirements:

• Shipped at least 1 title for Nintendo GameCube, PS2 or XBOX or simultaneously
• 5 or more years C++ object oriented experience
• Strong 3D math and graphics background
• Ability and desire to innovate, contribute and polish all aspects of a game
• Experience with next...

Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories for PS2 US Release Confirmed

400°
314w ago - Update: This morning we have been in touch with Square-Enix Europe in an attempt to confirm a European release of the PS2 remake of Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories, originally a GBA title.

We reported yesterday that Square-Enix USA has confirmed to managers at the Gamestop Convention that the game will be landing this fall with a budget price.

Confimation of a UK and EU release is at this moment in the words of a Square-Enix rep "tbc." The representative went on to state that they were "unaware" of any plans to bring the game to EU shores, and that it would be "near impossible before Christmas." It was noted that since a US release was happening, a European equivalent would "Probably happen", even if it is a limited release similar to the GBA Final Fantasy remakes.

It seems an international release is unlikely. Europeans should begin praying to the release god now that they see Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories PS2 in 2009.

Square-Enix have revealed to managers at this week's Gamestop Manager Conference that they will be releasing Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories for PS2 this Holiday season in the USA.

Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories is a PS2 3D remake of the Game Boy Advance spinoff title that takes place between Kingdom Hearts and Kingdom Hearts II. The...

6GHz Plus: Overclocking the E8600 with Liquid Nitrogen

400°
314w ago - CustomPC writes: We recently had the chance to test Intel's latest overclocking-friendly CPU, the Core 2 Duo E8600, at Amari's labs near Watford.

Not content with merely wowing us with their Dream PCs 2008 entry - the fantastic submersion-cooled XCP - Amari provided the facilities to overclock the E8600 with liquid nitrogen.

Custom PC was aided by two of the UK's best-known overclockers from BenchTec, Sacha35 (Paul Watkinson) and Bazx (Barry Wynd), where we cooled the chip to a chilly -120C and achieved some truly impressive clock speeds and benchmark results.

Video and speed results can be seen linked above!
