160w ago - EA Community Manager Matthew Pruitt has shared a video announcing that Need for Speed Hot Pursuit hits PS3 today, and fans can play with the game's developers this weekend!
To quote: Need for Speed Hot Pursuit races onto the PlayStation 3 today asking the vital question: are you a racer or are you a cop?
That's the choice you'll make when you get behind the wheel and start tearing up the streets of Seacrest County.
Need for Speed Hot Pursuit PlayStation 3 players will experience the thrill of the chase and the rush of the escape as they play through full careers as both a cop and a racer solo or connected. The blistering speeds, brutal busts and heart-stopping getaways are all connected via Need for Speed Autolog.
This network not only connects friends for epic head-to head pursuits and races, but also enables players to compare performances and stats, thereby setting the stage for the ultimate in friendly competition.
I can tell you from playing here in the office that Autolog will bring out the competition in you - even if you're not a competitive person.
Every day we're amazed at the new times people set on each of the events. You think...
160w ago - Today Who's That Flying Writer/Producer Jim Griffiths has shared a video trailer and let us know that the PlayStation Minis title will be hitting PSN tomorrow for the PS3 and PSP consoles.
To quote: We're very, very pleased to announce that our second minis game, "Who's That Flying?!" goes live tomorrow on the PlayStation Store!
With "Who's That Flying?!", we've combined side-scrolling shooting action with elements of tower defence and even some up-close and personal quick-time events for the super-dramatic moments!
What that means is that the character you control, the "Guardian of Earth" is pretty much invulnerable, blasting enemies apart and grappling giant bosses with ease - but the cities you are defending are hugely vulnerable. So your goal is not to survive, but rather to stop too many enemies getting past you and destroying your cities.
Check out the all-new, full trailer for the game!
The story starts out with the Guardian of Earth on trial for allowing the invasion to take place; each level is played out as a flashback as you submit your version of events... in the most dramatic way possible!
The game will become available today on the PS3 and PSP worldwide for the price...
160w ago - SCEE European Product Manager Cristina Giuliano has confirmed today that the Zombie Apocalypse known as Dead Nation for PlayStation 3 is hitting PSN in Europe on December 1, and a day earlier on November 30, 2010 in North America.
To quote: Calling all zombie killers from across Europe: over the last few month we have been talking quite a lot about Dead Nation, the third-person shooter coming to PlayStation Network, revealing the game's innards trailer by trailer and limb by necrotic limb.
Lots of you have been asking when this game is coming out and I am very happy to finally give you a release date.
Get ready: the zombie apocalypse is happening in Europe on the 1st December, only on PlayStation Network.
The price will be €12.99 / £9.99.
In case you've had your head in a corpse and don't know what Dead Nation is, see all of the posts we have had on the game here.
For starters, there's our spectacular cover story: inFamous 2. We spent a full day with the fine folks at Sucker Punch, seeing aspects of the game that no one outside of the studio has ever witnessed, and getting a chance to go hands-on with Cole MacGrath in new areas of the New Orleans-inspired setting.
All the electrifying details are revealed inside our lavish 10-page feature, along with world-exclusive screens, juicy new tidbits about the story, and a guided tour of New Marais' first island.
We've also scored a big scoop with the first hands-on with Mass Effect 2 on PS3, including details on how developer BioWare will ease us PlayStation gamers into their epic sci-fi RPG (since the original game wasn't released on PS3). Nifty stuff.
And it wouldn't be a holiday issue if there wasn't a gift guide....
160w ago - Today Associate Producer Michael Santora at PopCap Games has announced that Peggle is hitting PSP and PSPgo next Tuesday via PSN.
To quote: PopCap has already brought you Bejeweled 2 and Zuma for the PSP, and I'm excited to tell you that we have brought the full Peggle experience to the PlayStation Store on PSN!
I was the Associate Producer of Peggle and Peggle Nights for the PS3, and I know a number of you wanted to see this game come to your PSP so you could take it on the go. Remote Play is awesome, but you don't always have an internet connection when you want to play, right?
Our expert Peggle Institute Programmers were able to get the full, original Peggle Experience into your PSP. All the original Masters, challenges, and levels in adventure mode are here! There were some late nights and long meetings with Bjorn and Master Hu, but we got there!
Peggle on the PSP took us a lot of time to get right to make sure we created a game that looked good on the smaller screen (I hope your PSP has a smaller screen than your TV!) and felt right with the PSP controls.
I hope you are all as excited about this as I am, and thanks for liking our games as much as we do! It's a pretty awesome feeling to get such a warm reception...
