ESRB Censors Violent God of War 3 PlayStation 3 Videos

550°
270w ago - Late last night, the ESRB forced the removal of several gruesome God of War III [Register or Login to view links] and replaced them with censored versions.

Two of the more notorious scenes shown thus far from the game, one where Kratos rips the eye out of a cyclops and one where Kratos tears the head of Helios from his body, were blocked out by a big 'censored by the ESRB' logo.

To quote: The two scenes both showed detailed flesh tearing and gore.

Though the trailers can still be found uncensored elsewhere on the 'net, this does bring up concerns as to what may happen to the content in the final game, both in these scenes and ones that haven't been shown.

In an interview from PlayStation Magazine, the God of War team was quoted saying "Some of these scenes are so violent, they are never going on the Internet", meaning we haven't even seen the worst of it yet, but the ESRB is already stepping in.

In 2007, Manhunt was barred from release because of excessive and bleak violence - could God of War III be headed down the same path?

272w ago - Wondering how SoulCalibur: Broken Destiny is looking on the PSP? Watch several clips of different fighting matches in SoulCalibur: Broken Destiny below.

There's also a gameplay video below featuring Kratos, from God of War. It looks like the PSP will be getting another great looking fighting game from Namco Bandai Games. The PSP may just have the best portable fighting games.

To quote: SoulCalibur: Broken Destiny is the first portable iteration in the series that promises to deliver its signature weapon-based fighting formula on-the-go.

With SoulCalibur: Broken Destiny's huge roster of warriors, players can battle as one of many returning favorites or new fighters for some nail biting brawls.

Adding depth to the combat, an all new single player mode has been developed that not only challenges a player's reflexes but also improves their fighting skills. Robust and challenging single-player modes, head-to-head multiplayer and gorgeous visuals make this a must-have for any fighting game fan.

Videos: PSOne Emulator PSX4iPhone Running on iPhone 3GS

100°
273w ago - Today ZodTTD has shared a few preview videos of the PSOne emulator PSX4iPhone running on an iPhone 3GS. Also below is an earlier video of the GBA emulator gpSPhone running on the iPhone 3GS.

To quote: For those who have an iPhone 3GS, you're probably aware of how much faster this model runs over all previous Apple handheld devices. This is evident in my YouTube video posted in my previous newsbit of gpSPhone running on the 3GS.

I now have psx4iphone running very speedy on the 3GS. It's at the point where Final Fantasy 7 is fullspeed at very least without sound. The build is rough around the edges, as you can't switch games without restarting the emulator, and only memory card saves are currently working, no save states just yet. Both these issues are being worked on.

So how would you like to run psx4iphone on your 3GS right now, even without a jailbreak? Well you can! I can make a build for a limited number of people.

In order to run this build you will need a tool like DiskAid for PC & Mac to place games & bios, that you must supply yourself, in a publicly writable directory. It's simple drag & drop.

Still...
