LittleBigPlanet Patch 1.03 Released, Servers Still Being Worked On

50°
307w ago - Media Molecule has now released LittleBigPlanet patch v1.03, which aims to lighten server loads. The LBP servers are also still up and down, and Media Molecule is continuing to investigate the cause of the online issues.

To quote: "We are aware that the online environment of LittleBigPlanet is having server performance issues, and we are investigating the cause," Sony told Eurogamer this morning. "We'll have an update to the online gameplay as soon as we possibly can."

Meanwhile, a source close to Media Molecule reminded us that a 1.03 patch has now been distributed, and that the main change was to do with lightening server loads.

Our source said the server problems should be under control by now, and that the developer is keeping an eye on Sony Computer Entertainment America's experience since the game's launch there this week to gauge whether it's necessary to issue additional fixes for Europe.

PS3 Home v1.0 Closed BETA Coming, November Qore has Invites

50°
307w ago - Sony's Home Community Manager TedTheDog recently replied on the Official PlayStation boards when asked if he could hint on PlayStation Home's launch stating:

"How about "this year" then? Sorry, you dont have too long to wait compared to the length of the project so far, but I know the lack of a date is annoying. If it helps v1.0 is in internal testing and will hit the Closed BETA in the coming weeks as will more testers by invitation."

Additionally, CVG (linked above) is reporting that the November issue of Qore will include invites into the next Home Closed BETA.

To quote: Meanwhile, it has emerged that subscribers of the US-only online PSN magazine, Qore, will get invites into Home next month.

TedTheDog's reply in full: How about "this year" then? Sorry, you dont have too long to wait compared to the length of the project so far, but I know the lack of a date is annoying.

If it helps v1.0 is in internal testing and will hit the closed beta in the coming weeks as will more testers by invitation. Something I mentioned to the BETA testers today is important to remember. 1.0 is a major milestone on our journey...

LittleBigPlanet Patch v1.02 Now Available, Silences Lyrics

50°
308w ago - Just a bit earlier today LittleBigPlanet Patch v1.01 was released, and now v1.02 is also available. It's confirmed this revision does remove the entire vocals for the track containing words from the Qur'an... essentially turning it into an instrumental once applied.

To quote: This one does neuter Tourmani Diabate's song "Tapha Niang", silencing the two lyrics borrowed from the Qur'an, putting the game into the state it will presumably be when you all get hold of it in two weeks' time. In actual fact, it removes the entire vocal track, leaving a pleasant instrumental.

There's no word on what else the patch does, but then you won't notice, since the game isn't out yet. Unless you're in the secret club, obviously, in which case you can join us sulking about how the game servers aren't online yet.

LittleBigPlanet Patch v1.01 Now Available

50°
308w ago - A few days back Media Molecule announced that a LittleBigPlanet patch was ready for release to rectify the alleged offensive material included.

Anyone who has managed to get their hands on LittleBigPlanet early will now be able to download patch v1.01. The offensive song in the game, however, still remains... but it is being assumed that they have cut out the offensive lyrics.

To quote: LittleBigPlanet has seen it's first patch this morning for anyone with the game already (or at least the European version) taking the game to version 1.01. Interestingly, it appears the song in question is still there, we're assuming they've removed, censored or looped around the troublesome content, though.
