Videos: PS Home GamesCom and Red Bull Flugtag Mini-Game

250°
266w ago - Some new PlayStation Home videos are available today via the Presentation Podium in preparation for the upcoming GamesCom event and also on the new Red Bull mini-game entitled Flugtag.

Check out the PlayStation Home GamesCom trailer courtesy of Alphazone4.co.uk (linked above), and the latter video highlights what Red Bull Flugtag is all about from fijiwaterboy on YouTube.

Finally, to quote from [Register or Login to view links]: "This is labelled 'Flugtag Game Space', and shows a similar island surrounding to the current 'Red Bull Air Race' space, along with a large pig being thrown off the side of a short pier.

We know that the real-life game is based on creating your own contraption that you think will take you the furthest through the air before you come crashing down into the water below. Some people make hand gliders, while others deliberately make massive rubber ducks just for fun. The crazier the better.

It's pure speculation how this game will be implemented into PlayStation Home, but looking at how the game is played in real life, and at Sony's 'Game 3.0′ view, this could possibly be one of the first user-generated content games that we've seen hit the Home service."

New Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising Videos & DLC Support

100°
266w ago - Today several new Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising videos were released in their community forums (linked above).

Dubbed 'Blinding The Dragon', 'Hardcore Mode' and 'Take The Beach' they feature key members of the development team, marking the first in a series of developer videos that are going to take you behind the scenes of the development of Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising.

In an [Register or Login to view links] with Codemasters' Tim Browne, multi-platform DLC support is detailed as well- to quote:

"The console users will be able to use those vehicles at different times, but obviously we do have plans for DLC, and some of this is going to be free DLC, so people who are like, "Why do the console gamers have to pay to use something the PC gamers can use for free?", that's not necessarily true because we do have plans for free DLC as well.

The community has supported us for the long and we want to give something back to the community as a sort of thank you. So what we want do is, we want to bring out DLC, we want to support the community, we want to have competitions and things like that based around missions - I'll leave that up to your imagination."

Finally, the new videos and related screens...

Videos: Ratchet & Clank Comic-Con Recap for PlayStation 3

50°
268w ago - Insomniac Games Community Relations Manager James Stevenson has outlined a recap of Comic-Con 2009 Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time footage today.

To quote: We led off with some exclusive videos that those of you playing at home won't be able to see until the final game releases, one involving Captain Qwark, and the other an unlockable video about the Agorian Warriors.

Allgeier and company then discussed the story, and its theme of "throwing caution to the wind," especially relating to the effect of Ratchet being with an older Lombax for the first time. One of the early highlights involved a verbal spar between Taylor and Shimerman, using the voices of Ratchet and Dr. Nefarious, respectively, as they sat together on stage talk about Nefarious's temperament issues.

Discussion then turned to Clank and his whereabouts after being kidnapped at the end of Tools of Destruction. Bernal revealed that Clank is being held at the center of the universe (give or take fifty feet), in a secret facility known as the Great Clock. Clank gains new time abilities and has some brand new indie-inspired time gameplay.

Next came a topic that is a series standby: weapons. The beginning of the discussion centered on the Weapons Contest...

Videos: LittleBigPlanet and Gran Turismo in Action on the PSP Go

200°
269w ago - Across the Atlantic, the folks at [Register or Login to view links] got their hands on Sony's PSP Go and a couple of games recently - LittleBigPlanet and Gran Turismo, specifically.

Sony Spain allowed them to grab some video of each game, despite the fact that there is another three months or so until the release of PSP Go.

To quote: While entertaining, these videos do little more for us than tantalize our already over-tantalized mind grapes.

Thankfully though, three months should be plenty of time to put away, um, a lot of extra change for the $250 handheld.
