To quote: If you haven't heard about it already, Project CARS is a bit different. Different in the philosophy of freedom that runs throughout the entire game, and different in how it's being created - by YOU, the gamers!

Project CARS was conceived back in October 2011 (Wow, time flies!) as a natural continuation of our work on two of racing's biggest franchises - Need For Speed and Test Drive - and as a return to our roots when we created GTR and GT Legends.

Back when we were conceiving the idea, we knew we wanted to create a racing game that covered a wide range of different car types and motorsports, and gave you the freedom to play and experiment with them however you wanted.

We wanted the core driving experience to be the most authentic on the planet, and we wanted to provide you with all the features you need to recreate a race weekend as it happens in real life - complete with a dynamic time of day and a weather system that not only looks beautiful but challenges your skills and provides strategic opportunities.

Rumor: PS4 Getting Friend Notifications in Firmware Update 1.80, Details

16w ago - Not long after the release of PS4 Firmware Update v1.70 comes rumors of what is likely to be included in PlayStation 4 System Software Update v1.80 with details below!

To quote: "Sony released the 1.7 firmware update for the PS4 today, and it was a quite big one, featuring a lot of generally requested features, but there are a few that still didn't appear: one of them is a notification when friends connect to the PSN.

According to Twitter user bjexbob (twitter.com/bjexan) friend notifications are finally going to appear with firmware update 1.8. The message was relayed by industry insider Tidux (twitter.com/Tidux), who has a very solid track record of knowing what's happening at Sony. I personally reached out to Tidux inquiring about Bjexbob's identity, and he confirmed that he indeed works in a position that gives him plenty insight on the issue (we won't disclose said position to respect his privacy).

Interestingly enough Tidux also added that Friend notifications have been working internally since update 1.6, but hasn't been implemented yet for general users.

Fenix Fire Announces Source on PS4: Evolving The Adventure

16w ago - Fenix Fire CEO Brian McRae announced Source on PS4 today while discussing the evolution of the adventure with PlayStation 4 fans below.

To quote: When we began developing Source, we set out to create something completely new and unique, yet deeply versed in the classic Metroidvania adventure game style. To us, a Metroidvania is a special kind of adventure game that has a few main components that need to be just right.

First off, there needs to be an expansive, mysterious world to explore. Second, there should be permanent upgrades that are vital to your character's advancement and survival.

Lastly, a rich, visual story should unfold simply by playing the game itself. In just a few months of development time we've managed to uncover how we will attempt these familiar traits of the genre, and maybe even evolve them a bit further with Source.

The world of Source, even in its earliest versions, has always been an alternate dimension full of life, energy, and bio luminescence. Early on we looked at 80′s computer graphic movies like Tron, deep sea marine life, and fine surreal art for influence.

Mossmouth Reveals Spelunky PS4 is Coming to PlayStation 4

16w ago - Mossmouth's Derek Yu revealed today that Spelunky is coming to PlayStation 4 with details and some PS4 screenshots below.

To quote: Hello, past, present, and future Spelunky fans! I'll keep it short and simple: Spelunky is coming to PS4!

We're once again teaming up with BlitWorks, who did a great job on bringing the game to PS3 and PS Vita. For PS4, we want to do even more - like bump up the graphics to 1080p, let players upload replays to the leaderboards, add more social features to the Daily Challenge, and otherwise take advantage of the PS4′s unique hardware.

I attribute a lot of Spelunky's success to sharing and streaming, and since the PS4 is built in great part around those ideas, we want to make sure that we do everything we can to support that culture! Let us know in the comments if there's anything else you'd like to see us add.

If you already bought Spelunky on PS3 and Vita, thank you so much! You'll also own the game on PS4 when it comes out, since we're including it as part of cross buy.

But if you don't have it on console yet, the PS4 version launch would be a great time to see what it's all about, since you'll also get the game on PS3 and PS Vita!

To quote: Hello, PlayStation fans! My name is James Petruzzi, and I'm the Producer of [Register or Login to view links], a procedurally-generated RPG Platformer coming to PS4 later this year.

In Chasm, players take up the role of Daltyn, a young soldier sent to investigate the mysterious disappearance of a mining crew in the remote mountain town of Karthas. Upon arrival you learn the town has been cut off from the outside world by supernatural forces.

Now trapped, you are left with no option but to explore the mines below the town and uncover the source of the disturbances. Only by gaining new special abilities, evading dangerous traps, and defeating hordes of deadly enemies can you hope to save Karthas - and possibly the world!

One of the hardest parts of game design is creating a unique and interesting world for players to explore. The Metroidvania genre has always been popular among exploration fans, and utilizes unlockable items or abilities that help the player reach previously inaccessible areas.
