PlayStation Plus Hits PS Vita, Online Game Save Storage Upgraded

50°
110w ago - Sony PlayStation Network Director of Marketing Brandon Stander has announced today that PS Plus is coming to PS Vita alongside news that the Online Game Save Storage is being upgraded!

To quote: Since its inception, PlayStation Plus has delivered a strong value to PlayStation gamers. We've been keeping our ears to the ground and asking Plus members "What would you like to see added to PlayStation Plus?"

Today, I'm happy to share the news that was announced at Gamescom: PlayStation Plus is coming to PS Vita this year, and Online Game Saves are getting a giant upgrade in September.

We will also deliver PlayStation Plus, which is currently available for PS3 users, to PS Vita users this year. By purchasing a membership to PlayStation Plus, PS Vita users will be able to enjoy various services which will become available exclusively for members.

Additionally, we're upgrading Online Game Save Storage. Previously, Online Game Saves offered up to 150MB of game save data storage in the cloud for PlayStation 3. With this update, Plus members will get to store up to 1GB of game save data. This means you'll never have to worry about running out of space for your game save files!

We love hearing feedback from the community, so please share your thoughts with us in the comments...

Orgarhythm by XSeed for PlayStation Vita: Music Meets Strategy

50°
110w ago - XSeed Senior Editor Jessica Chavez has outlined Orgarhythm for PlayStation Vita today describing the PS Vita title as music meeting strategy.

To quote: Orgarhythm is a game that's going to puzzle a lot of people.

It's certainly not a premise that I've ever seen before, much less played. In short, Orgarhythm is the marriage of music and strategy - and some very nice touch controls. It's a game where you march to the beat, literally.

The premise is simple: There are two brothers, one that embodies creation, the other destruction. Together they settle on a planet and set about pumping out hordes of mini-tribal dudes who seem to really enjoy dancing.

The God of Light (the brother who thinks growing stuff is neat and probably listens to Jack Johnson) is making great progress spawning kittens, erecting maypoles or whatever kind of idyllic stuff you might imagine a sparkling deity likes.

Meanwhile, the other God (of Darkness) would rather just break all of his brother's toys. Understandably vexed, the God of Light decides it's time for a dance off and begins his slow-mo march to battle.

That's where you come in. Using the touch screen controls on your PS Vita, you'll direct the God of Light's backup dancers and tap-tap-tap your way through enemies. The...

Sony Goes Hands-On with Persona 4 Golden for PlayStation Vita

250°
110w ago - Sony Senior Social Media Manager Jeff Rubenstein went hands-on today with Persona 4 Golden for the PlayStation Vita video game portable console.

To quote: There's never been a better time to be a fan of the Shin Megami Tensei: Persona series.

Persona 4 Arena has just arrived on our shores this week, taking the venerable RPG franchise into 2D fighting game territory (and successfully so).

This fall, one of the PS2′s most highly regarded games is coming to PS Vita with Persona 4 Golden. Even if you're new to the series, as I am, there's never been a better time to get into it.

As a recent inductee into the Persona universe (via Persona 3 Portable on PS Vita), I eagerly took up [Register or Login to view links] on the opportunity to sample a work-in-progress edition of Persona 4 Golden last week.

The first thing you're likely to notice about P4G is how good this game looks. It's not surprising that a PS Vita game would look better than a PS2 or PSP game, but the sharpness and contrast of the visuals on "dat screen" are dramatically better than anything the series has seen.

While a lot of the static character art isn't new (especially that of the Personae, which are largely the same as in P3), the crispness of the screen had me thinking...

Ragnarok Odyssey on PS Vita is a Giant-Smashing Good Time

50°
110w ago - XSeed Games Production Assistant Brittany Avery has shared an update on Ragnarok Odyssey for the PlayStation Vita handheld console today.

To quote: I've been playing Ragnarok Odyssey for PS Vita. In English.

Are you ready to stand taller than giants? You should be, because that's what this game is all about.

One day, a passage along the Millennium Peaks gives humans access to the long-sealed off Sundered Land, and because they're really lucky, it's filled to the brim with mighty beasts that seem to want nothing more than to destroy mankind's territory - Trogdor-style.

Only they're not dragons with handsomely chiseled arms, they're ugly Giants. Giants who like to smash things.

That's where you come in. You're a mercenary on the front lines, and once you choose your sex, job class, and how cute you are (by way of hair style/color, skin color and voice type), you're ready to drop in on Fort Farthest like a bat out of hell.

And don't worry, you're only restricted to your default job class for a short time - you'll soon be able to go from hacking and slashing as a Sword Warrior to creating miniature explosions as a Mage with a mere wardrobe change.

And even that won't be a limitation soon enough, because I'm sure some of you would prefer...
