PlayStation Home Avatars Now Include Free Wolverine Claws

200°
258w ago - European PS3 gamers who view the two-minute long trailer for X-Men Origins: Wolverine at Sony's PlayStation Home Theatre will then find a free set of Wolverine Claws waiting for them in the Threads store of the Home Mall.

Unfortunately, these are non-functional weapons so you won't be able to go on a virtual rampage in Home... but free is always nice!

To quote: "As of today, it gets a little more dangerous with the addition of wearable Wolverine claws in Sony's virtual social space.

In an effort to promote the release of X-Men Origins: Wolverine, this year's best mutant action-comedy, on Blu-ray and DVD, Twentieth Century Fox and Sony Computer Entertainment Europe are giving away free adamantium upgrades to Home users. And they're giving away a free animated shirt. They call it a vest in Europe, which sounds much nicer than "wife-beater."

How does one get these lovely prizes?

Well, all one needs to do is visit the old Threads Store in Home, presumably after visiting the Home Theatre to watch a preview of the Blu-ray release."

Free Undead Knights PSP Demo Contained Full Game

650°
259w ago - According to both ratboy3124 on our boards HERE and GameSpot (linked above) it appears Sony mistakenly released the full version of Undead Knights for PSP instead of the demo for free!

Although GameSpot claims it's been pulled from the PS Store, it appears the download link is still working at the time of this writing... so leech away while you can guys!

To quote: "Earlier today, Sony launched the UMD-less PSP Go and added over 100 downloadable titles to the PlayStation Store. One more title could have been on that list, as a "demo" of Tecmo's Undead Knights included in the early morning update apparently included the full version of the game instead.

The 486MB download has since been pulled from the online storefront, but not before GameSpot was able to get it. The downloaded game gives no indication that it is limited in any way, with full access to all menu options, a working save function, customizable characters, and multiple playable chapters."

Video: Comet Crash Free Update Coming Soon to PSN for PS3

100°
260w ago - Today Pelfast President John Bates has shared a Comet Crash defense gameplay video, and he announced that a Comet Crash free update will be coming soon to PSN for the PlayStation 3.

To quote: This is John Bates and Jennifer Pourchot from Pelfast. Pelfast is a small indie startup located in sunny California.

Our highly acclaimed debut title, Comet Crash for PS3 has turned the tower defense genre on its head with completely new and exciting gameplay. We've been busy again with a free update that will add a few new features described at the end of the post. For those unfamiliar with Comet Crash, here's a quick run down.

Tower defense fans appreciate the simple yet addictive experience of building towers to defend from enemy waves. On the other hand, we at Pelfast love the thrill of a massive offensive rush to demolish an enemy base. We designed Comet Crash with both of these elements in mind. Finally, you can send massive swarms of your own troops to wreak havoc on the relentless waves of enemies. Ahhh... sweet revenge!

In Comet Crash, your first priority is to defend your territory from an assortment of enemy invaders. For those of you new to tower defense gameplay, this involves strategically placing various weapon towers...

Free Realms Hits PS3 Mid-2010, May Support PlayStation Eye

50°
261w ago - Should be go, they're talking about PS Eye support too!

To quote: The Q&A session following the Free Realms centric keynote speech, delivered earlier today by Sony Online Entertainment president John Smedley at GDC Austin, contained a hopeful tidbit for those looking to play the aforementioned free-to-play MMO on their consoles.

When we asked about the release window for the PS3 version of Free Realms, Smedley cheekily replied, "I'm wondering, too!" He then added, "It's next year sometime, toward the middle of the year."

During his speech, Smedley also addressed the functions which would be specifically tailored for the MMO's console outing, saying, "For the PlayStation 3 version, it's very likely that the Eye is going to be something we support."
