318w ago - Now we can enjoy Dracula X Chronicles' bonus game, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, in full screen! Dark_AleX has released a patch for the game that replaces the larger screen mode, which stretches only top to bottom, with a full-screen mode taking full advantage of the PSP's 480x272 resolution.
Note: This does not enable full screen mode for the original Rondo of Blood also included in the game.
- Make an ISO of the UMD. (note: the iso must be decompressed, not CSO, you can compress it after the patch if you want).
- Run the program in the command line as "sotn_fs path_of_iso", and done, you can play SOTN at fullscreen.
318w ago - The Warhawk 1.1 patch is now officially available for download. To get the latest patch, just launch your Warhawk game and you will be notified that the 1.1 update is available.
The download is about 8.2 megs. If you managed to get the patch before today's official release, when it was accidentally released, you'll find there are fixes to the "viral-rank-up" and the "time-in-vehicle stat".
To quote: Just wanted to make a quick post to let everyone know that the Warhawk v1.1 patch will be deployed world-wide on Friday, November 2nd, during an extended maintenance window between 5am and 9am Pacific.
Some of you were able to download the v1.1 patch before it was "officially" ready. Since this occurred without the server-side updates to complement it, not all of the fixes would have functioned. Specifically, the viral-rank-up fix and the time-in-vehicle stat fix. Once we bring the system back online Friday, 9am Pacific, these fixes will be functional.
Also, once we deploy the patch, when you boot Warhawk, you will be prompted by the XMB to download the v1.1 patch. This is a fast download so it's not a time killer. Once the XMB has pulled the patch down, Warhawk will boot back up and be happy! You will also notice a "v1.1″ in the lower right corner of the screen.
318w ago - Warhawk developer Dylan Jobe has confirmed that the highly awaited Warhawk v1.1 patch will be released tomorrow November 2nd, sometime between 5am and 9am pacific time.
To quote: FINALLY! -- and Yes...I realize this was a loooong time coming :-P
We are going to be globally deploying the v1.1 during an extended maintenance window Friday, November 2nd between 5am and 9am Pacific.
To recap, here are the items addressed by the patch:
* Stat database stability improvements
* Improved server stability
* Max Clan limit changed from 32 to 64
* Viral Rank-up bug fixed and correct for players that were accidentally ranked up.
* "Time-in-Vehicle" Stats fixed so certain awards can now be granted properly.
Client-side (this is the one that you will actually download to your PS3)
* Stat connection, fetch/post fixes
* Significantly improved client connection stability
* Quad "????" Ping display bug fixed.
* Added support for Player-Ranked Servers.
* Game synchronization fixes due to fluctuating network conditions (packet-drop).
* Crash fixes for end of game and split screen.
A couple of things that I want to point out. Some of you were able to download the v1.1 patch before...
319w ago - Dylan Jobe the game director of Warhawk has posted up that some US players have been able to download the Warhawk v1.1 patch before its Official global release date. However since then, Jobe reports that the problem has been resolved and the v1.1 patch has been take offline until the team can finalize their 'global test cycle'. To quote:
This afternoon, some of our US players were inadvertently able to download the v1.1 patch prior to its official, worldwide deployment. This problem has been resolved and the v1.1 patch has been taken offline until we finalize our global test cycle.
We super apologize for the inconvenience – we all want the patch out as soon as possible, but we need to wait for it to clear the last stages of our world-wide test before we "pull-the-trigger."
So...for those players that were using the Blu-ray version of Warhawk that *did* update to v1.1 today, we advise that you go to the XMB (cross media bar), and in your "Game Data Utility", delete your Warhawk game data. Once you've done that, just re-boot Warhawk and the game will re-install v1.0, allowing you to play with the 1.0 world again. And I know you'll all ask this...it will *not* affect your stats or Save Data.
319w ago - Konami is suffering criticism from gamers who say the PS3 version of the game suffers from frame rate issues and slowdown. You can see why we gave the game seven out of 10 in our review here. You can also see our exclusive gameplay footage here.
Earlier today Konami apologised for the quality of online play with an online notification displayed when gamers enter the PES 2008 lobby. It revealed that the publisher has uncovered "issues which can affect the online gameplay quality of PES 2008" and is working "full strength to find a solution as quickly as possible".
We gave Konami's UK office a call posing as a customer to ask what the publisher would be doing to combat the problems. We were told that a patch was being worked on that would not only attempt to improve offline play but also online play. However, Konami does not have a timeframe on when that patch will be released.
It remains unclear how PES fans who are not connected to the Internet will be able to improve the quality of their game experience, however.
