Warhawk 1.3 Patch Detailed

200°
363w ago - Dylan Jobe, Warhawk Game Director, has released details on the game's version 1.3 patch. The patch will include full integration with Sony's upcoming Home service, enabling players to form groups, meet in their apartments, discuss tactics, and then launch a game of Warhawk - all straight from within the confines of HOME.

How will it work? Provided that you're in your apartment, just pull up your virtual PSP, select Create Game and choose Warhawk from the menu prompt. From there you can start up your own server and configure game settings.

What's more, is that you'll be hide your game from the public and let only friends join. Games launched from within HOME will appear on the server list in the color gold.

Numerous VO-IP upgrades are planned for the patch. Jobe says players will now be able to select from either PTT or Open-Mic mode, tune the voice-activation level, and enable cross-team chat support.

As for in-game content, the update will feature two new pieces of equipment, including a Mechanic's Field Wrench and Bio-Field Generator. Some player-created customizations will also be making their way into the update.

No set release date has been provided for the patch yet.

Madden 08 on PS3 finally gets patched like Xbox 360 version

50°
368w ago - According to PastaPadre, the Madden 08 patch for the PS3 has been cleared for certification by Sony and will be released sometime on the 8th January.

This is the same patch that the Xbox 360 version received back in November, and includes a fumble fix and more bug fixes.

To quote: This is the same patch the 360 received late in November and addresses the following issues:

Fumble Fix - Reduced fumble chances in certain situations. This has been tested thoroughly and we feel that people will be happy with a more realistic (and more fun!) number of fumbles. This was priority number 1 for us.

DB Reactions- changes to the way that DBs play man coverage. Defenders in man coverage won't be able to react to passes that they cannot see. This should make it easier to throw against man coverage.

Favre "Moonwalk"- I love the names that you guys come up with for issues such as this one. You can rest assured that you won't see Farve (or any QB) dancing toward the sideline anymore.

Hook Zone Flip Bug- I saw a post on a community forum talking about this bug and it turns out the fix was very minimal risk. You can now flip plays with hook zones without the players leaving their zones.

Franchise - Fixed NCAA import issue where players would turn 26

Rumor: Orange Box patch might be on the horizon

50°
369w ago - It's no secret the PS3 version of Orange Box is inferior to the PC and 360 version due to the unforgivable amounts of bugs and bad coding. Many gamers have voiced their displeasure about the game, and one upset gamer, who purchased the game despite the highly publicized problems, posted a thread on Valve's forums. Soon after, a Valve employee responded to address his complaints.

"I hope that we will be able to correct any major issues in the future," wrote Burton before wishing him a "Happy New Years." Now, this can be interpreted numerous ways, however, the most likely scenario is Valve issuing a patch to address these problems.

One thing to keep in mind is that this mess isn't entirely Valve's fault since it handed over reigns to EA London for the PS3 port. However, it's still Valve's baby, and it's most certainly in the developer's best interests to keep the quality of its most-popular franchise as high as possible.
