Video: Tearaway on PS Vita and Media Molecule: About Us

50°
40w ago - Sony Community Manager James Spafford posted up a video today spotlighting Media Molecule, the team behind Tearaway on PS Vita below!

To quote: The last video in our little Tearaway miniseries is all about us: Media Molecule, the studio behind Tearaway and our first game LittleBigPlanet.

The video focuses on how we work, and how we assure everyone's ideas are counted. Mm is an interesting place, a rather chaotic place where the term 'herding cats' gets thrown around a lot, but where somehow the chaos is channeled into communal creativity and the games we love to make.

We love to inspire creativity in people, and we love to create our own unique games that we think will give people experiences unlike any they've had before.

Tearaway is out this Friday, November 22nd and we hope it will provide players with exactly that - a new game experience unlike any other - we'll let you be the judge!

We hope you enjoy this last video in the series- remember to pre-order Tearaway to secure the cool pre-order bonus items. Week one orders at the PS Store will also include the bonus items, so those who prefer the digital version will not miss out!

Tearaway launches on Friday (yay!), so...

Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty is a nostalgialicious remake of our first Oddworld game, Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee, built from the ground up for PlayStation platforms, with brand new next-gen technology.

Over the last 12 months since we last showed New 'n' Tasty, we've been hard at work bringing the game to life, and we're delighted to announce that we'll be releasing in spring 2014 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and PS Vita.

50°
40w ago - Sony Associate Producer Michael Pulst shared a video today proclaiming that Tearaway and PlayStation Vita are a match made in heaven.

To quote: Hello again! We do hope you've been enjoying our Behind the Scenes Tearaway mini-series. For the fourth video in our little collection, we wanted to show you why this papery platforming adventure really couldn't have been made for any other device or console.

On your quest to help iota or atoi deliver their very special message to you, you'll solve perplexing puzzles with the tilt; defeat your enemies with the front touch pad; capture and customize your journey together with the front and rear cameras and microphone; and, best of all, reach into the game with the rear touch pad. It truly is a "hands-in" experience (sorry).

40w ago - Sony Community Manager James Spafford is here with a new behind the scene video today spotlighting the music of Tearaway on PlayStation Vita.

To quote: [Register or Login to view links] is out in just over a week and we can't wait for you to play it! To get you even more excited, take a little peek at the third video in our series looking at all the bits and bobs that make Tearaway the unique and special thing that it is.

This one will tell you all about the splendid sounds and music we made especially for the game, including a completely bespoke original score.

This very special soundtrack is inspired by all sorts of folklore and legends, and even features snippets of some sea shanties our Head of Audio Kenny Young wrote for the game, one of which made it into our Sogport trailer back in January.

If that doesn't make you want to ride a pig through a beautiful paper world we don't know what will.

You can get your hands on the Tearaway Original Soundtrack first with the Special Delivery Pre-Order Pack available both at your favorite retailer and on the PS Store for a limited time - so if you like what you hear, head over to the store and [Register or Login to view links]...

Video: Sony Unveils Tearaway PlayStation Vita TV Advert Premiere

50°
40w ago - Sony Product Manager Alex Moyet unveiled the Tearaway PlayStation Vita TV advert video premiere today with details below.

To quote: Just 10 DAYS to go until the launch of Tearaway on PS Vita - too much excitement! To help you while away the days why not take a little peek at the premiere of our official Tearaway TV ad.

The TV ad was filmed over two days in a studio in South Africa and includes a marvellous combination of CG, live action, puppet wizardry and - of course - papercraft! The set building team painstakingly crafted a stunning miniature paper set inspired by the world of Tearaway, including the snowy peaks of Gibbet Hill and the lush verdure of Valleyfold.

Have a look at some behind the scenes snaps:

With every tear, rip, fold and tab, a lot of love was put into the creating the set, from crafting a perilous ravine....

...to organising an entire production line just for trees!

And of course no Tearaway ad would be complete without a fearsome wendigo! Although this one needed a little bit of help standing up. Perhaps he was tired.

We hope you enjoy it - let us know what you think and don't forget there's still time to [Register or Login to view links]...
