36w ago - DICE Community Manager Vincent Vukovic revealed today that fans will be able to bring their PS3 stats to PlayStation 4 in Battlefield 4 on the upcoming PS4 video gaming and entertainment system.

To quote: This holiday, DICE will unwrap the next generation of all-out warfare with Battlefield 4. That means best-in-class multiplayer is coming to PS4 with huge 64-player battles, running at a smooth 60 frames-per-second.

Even if you start playing on PS3, we want to make your transition to PS4 easy. That's why we're notifying the devoted Battlefield and PlayStation communities that all of the time and effort you spend building up your Battlefield 4 stats will carry over when you upgrade to PS4.

That way, on October 29th, you can get in the game without any worries that you'll have to start ranking up all over again when PS4 launches. We got your back.

Today we also wanted to inform the community that DICE is promising to keep the action going all year long with the return of Premium membership for Battlefield 4.

With membership, players can expect themed digital expansion packs, new weekly content, and personalization options. And just as your stats, unlocks, and rank will be transferable from PS3 to PS4, so too will Battlefield 4 Premium membership.

Video: Vengeance is Yours Today in Call of Duty: Black Ops II on PS3

38w ago - Activision Community Manager Dan Amrich made available a video today announcing that Vengeance is here for Call of Duty: Black Ops II on PS3.

To quote: One of the reasons I keep coming back to Call of Duty is the fast action - and the action is fastest on maps that really encourage interaction.

When you know all the players are packed tightly together - when every corner you turn can lead to a high-caliber engagement - that's when the game is the most fun for me.

And I think it's why maps like Studio, Hijacked, and Nuketown 2025 are voted up so frequently in multiplayer lobbies.

The four multiplayer maps in the latest Call of Duty: Black Ops II DLC collection, Vengeance, were designed for players like me - folks who don't want to run around forever before they get someone in their sights.

That cuts both ways: I know when I get caught in someone else's sights, it won't be long before I'm back in the action. That's certainly true on Cove, which strands players on a small tropical island - a beautiful place for a vacation, if the vacation didn't look like it might last forever.

With just natural rock formations for cover, the debris of a recent plane crash, and endless ocean surrounding you on all sides, there's no avoiding...

Video: Sweet Fuse: At Your Side Lights Up PSP, PS Vita August 27th

38w ago - Aksys Games Editor Ben Bateman shared a video today announcing that Sweet Fuse: At Your Side lights up PSP and PS Vita platforms on August 27th, 2013.

To quote: Sweet Fuse: At Your Side (hereafter referred to as "Sweet Fuse," "The Product," or "Oh Captain My Captain") is an otome game, developed by Idea Factory and Otomate, and published by Aksys Games.

Coming to PSP and PS Vita (via PSN) on August 27th (and to retail soon after that), it follows the escapades of Saki Infaune, irascible fictional niece of legendary game developer Keiji Inafune as she navigates a deadly theme park and searches for that most elusive of emotions: Love.

What is Love?

Apart from, presumably, not hurting me anymore, that's a question history's great thinkers and poets have been asking for ages. Some say it's an illusion-Plato seems to think it has something to do with the pursuit of knowledge and perfect, unknowable, divine objects.

Scientists might tell you it's a biological and chemical imperative that drives us to procreate and thereby propagate our species. I certainly can't claim any special knowledge as to the answer, but I can tell you that Sweet Fuse is dedicated to the examination of it. But not exclusively!

Video: Pickles in Your Pocket: Bringing Runner2 to PlayStation Vita

45w ago - Gaijin Games Associate Producer Dant Rambo posted up a video today announcing Runner2 for the PlayStation Vita handheld console.

To quote: Adapting a console game for a mobile platform is no walk in the Welcome Park. The reasons for this are numerous, but it ultimately boils down to an issue of faithfulness.

We can't speak for other developers - though we imagine they would agree - but we wanted our game, BIT.TRIP Presents... Runner2: Future Legend of Rhythm Alien, to feel the same on the Vita as it does on the rest of its platforms.

Furthermore, we wanted to provide players everywhere with the chance to carry Unkle Dill around wherever they go. Though we've not yet finished our development of the Vita version, we're confident we've succeeded on both fronts.

For those unaware, Runner2 is a 2D platformer featuring vibrant worlds, unique characters, challenging (and rewarding!) gameplay, and the vocal stylings of Charles Martinet.

From the early planning stages to the finished product, our goal was to create a game that made people happy. If it just so happens that you're someone who likes to be happy, chances are good you'll enjoy it immensely.

Now, with the elevator pitch out of the way,...

Red Barrels: Outlast Will Scare the Heck Out of You on PS4

45w ago - Red Barrels Co-Founder Philippe Morin promises PS4 fans today that Outlast will scare the heck out of you on the PlayStation 4 console.

To quote: Hi, I'm Philippe Morin from Red Barrels! Together with co-founders David Chateauneuf and Hugo Dallaire, we started an indie studio for one reason: to use our experience working on games like Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune and Assassin's Creed to make the horror game we've been talking about with each other for years.

We're all big horror fans, especially David, and the game we wanted to make, a realistic survival horror game, wasn't the type of thing any big companies were willing to take a risk on. So we're taking the risk ourselves with Outlast, a survival horror, stealth-based game set in an abandoned asylum, coming to PS4 next year!

The best games make you feel something, some type of emotion that sticks with you after you're done playing. And fear is one of the most powerful emotions we can have as human beings. So for us, to make the best game possible, we know that we have to scare the heck out of you. We're trying to do that in a number of different ways, but where we start is with the design.

In Outlast you play as a journalist with no weapons or fighting ability. You're powerless and...
