Super Collapse 3 Unveiled as Next VHBL Supported Title for PS Vita

1000°
116w ago - Following up on his previous updates, today PlayStation Vita homebrew developer wololo has unveiled the title of the next PSP game that VHBL will support on PS Vita to be Super Collapse 3.

To quote from his blog: Insert here random rant for Sony.

Insert here weird explanation on why people should buy the PSP game Super Collapse 3 on their Vita. Implicitly make it clear that this is the next game being used for VHBL. Don’t forget to thank thecobra for his exploit and the port.

Mention that the game is mostly unavailable for the vita in Europe/Asia, but has been so far spotted in the US, UK, Canada, Mexico, Finland, Czech, Sweden, and Poland.

Tell people to wait a bit more for the VHBL files.

Video: PS Vita Hello World on 1.67 Demo, VHBL Update Incoming

1000°
117w ago - Following up on Sony's PS Vita Firmware Update v1.67, this weekend PlayStation Vita hacker wololo has announced news of a new Hello World on PS Vita 1.67 alongside details of a VHBL update with a demonstration video below.

To quote: Hope you didn’t wait too long since our last VHBL release a bit more than 2 weeks ago… This is a new PSP user mode exploit by thecobra (also discovered a while ago by WosRet), which I confirmed runs on a PS Vita with Firmware 1.67. Unlike Motorstorm and Everybody’s Tennis, this game is available in the US store as well as some other countries (details to come). Check the video and details below.

Thecobra already ported VHBL to this exploit, and we already have something running, that just needs a few tweaks here and there before being released. So far I didn’t see anything that would prevent HBL from running on Vita 1.67, but that will need to be fully confirmed in the days to come.

The name of the exploited game is obviously kept a secret until the public announcement, and if you don’t want to miss the release, remember that history repeats itself. Sony will most likely remove the game within hours following...

Guide to Porting VHBL (PS Vita Half-Byte Loader) Game Exploits

1300°
119w ago - This weekend PlayStation Vita developer wololo has made available a guide to porting VHBL (PS Vita Half-Byte Loader) to individual game exploits for those interested.

This news comes proceeding the recent Motorstorm Arctic Edge and Everybody's Tennis PSP / PS Vita game exploits.

Below is the guide, to quote from his blog (linked above): This guide assumes that you found a [Register or Login to view links] in a game, and that you were able to write a [Register or Login to view links].

So now what’s next? Well, as you probably know if you’ve gone that far, the PSP scene doesn’t really like “hello worlds”. A hello world is nice, but it accomplishes nothing, it just draws Sony’s attention to your exploit, and you know the vulnerability will be patched soon, while nobody really used the exploit.

Well, the next step is, ideally, a HEN or a custom firmware. Of course, this requires a kernel exploit, and...

Video: New PSP Exploit Surfaces, PS Vita VHBL Port Incoming?

1000°
122w ago - Following up on his PS Vita VHBL Motorstorm Arctic Edge hack from last week, today PlayStation Vita developer wololo has announced news of a new PSP exploit discovered by Xerpi with a demo video below!

To quote: I honestly stopped counting how many PSP "hello world" exploits in PSP games have been announced over the past months, but these exploits are getting a second life now that they symbolize a possibility for homebrews on the PS Vita.

This time it's scener Xerpi who found an exploit, which I haven't confirmed yet, but I should be able to give it a try sometimes this week. Will this lead to a VHBL port/release? First we need to make sure this game is actually available for the Vita. After that, only time will tell, but I'll do my best to help

Congrats, xerpi!

Note: Let me emphasize that I am aware of several psp game exploits being available, and releasing VHBL for them or not is basically up to their authors. I'm of course offering my help to port VHBL (although my free time is limited.

Porting VHBL is relatively easy, but even with some experience, from...

123w ago - As previously reported, PlayStation Vita developer wololo has now released the PS Vita Half Byte Loader (VHBL) and updated the source code for the Motorstorm Arctic Edge buffer overflow exploit according to plan!

Download: [Register or Login to view links] / [Register or Login to view links] / [Register or Login to view links] / [Register or Login to view links] / [Register or Login to view links] / [Register or Login to view links]

To quote: If you are lucky enough to be one of the few owners of Motorstorm Arctic Edge, VHBL is now available for download.

Please report Success/Failure here or on our forums (wololo.net/talk). As you will see, installing homebrews is a bit of a pain, so if you’re a good hearted guy who understands my explanations in the readme, please feel free to share homebrews packaged “correctly”...
