128w ago - This weekend Sony PlayStation 3 hackers Cyberskunk and evilsperm have released Rebug CFW 3.41.3 and 3.55.2 for PS3, Rebug CFW 3.41.3 and 3.55.2 for OtherOS++ Custom Firmware users and a 3.66 Version Spoofer 2.0 for the PS3 entertainment system.
Details from the official site: IMPORTANT UPDATE - FOR REBUG 3.55.2 USERS ONLY
REBUG UPDATE PACKAGE 0.2
Two bugs have been brought to our attention were some users are experiencing either a system crash when exiting any apps or games in NORMAL MODE and/or the updated Rebug Selector will not allow the mode to be changed. Both of these bugs were not experienced in testing so we apologies for any inconvenience.
We have found and fixed the problems and have provided for you a small update that any users of REBUG 3.55.2 should install.
First thing you will notice is the new Rebug Selector 1.6 is using the old 1.2 UI layout. It appears so far that the new menu was what was causing issue for some...
THIS DOESNT ALLOW PSN - USE AT YOUR OWN RISK - FOR 3.55 ONLY
THIS WILL NOT WORK ON REBUG FIRMWARE
3.65 Version Spoofer 2.0 is much faster and safer to use than the previous version spoofers. It works like the ★ Rebug Selector and backs up your current files before activating the spoof, then auto reboots leaving no room for end-user error.
Press L1+CROSS to INSTALL 3.65 Version Spoof files to your PS3
Press L1+CROSS to ACTIVATE/DEACTIVATE (System will reboot)
Press L1+CIRCLE to UNINSTALL (this will deactivate the spoofer, remove the spoof files from dev_flash and reboot if needed)
Rebug Update Package 0.1
THIS DOESNT ALLOW PSN - USE AT YOUR OWN RISK - FOR REBUG 3.55.1 ONLY
IMPORTANT NOTE: If you have installed the so-called Advance...
132w ago - SCEE's James Gallagher has shared an interview today with Randy Pitchford of Gearbox Software on the upcoming PS3 version of Duke Nukem Forever.
To quote: "It's like shaking hands with Bigfoot or riding the Loch Ness monster," said Gearbox Software CEO Randy Pitchford when talking about finally releasing Duke Nukem Forever.
Look up the term 'vaporware' and Duke Nukem Forever will likely be used as an example, but it's real and it's coming to U.S. PS3s in less than two weeks. I caught up with Randy to ask why you should always bet on Duke.
Duke is an all-American hero with the Stars and Stripes featuring heavily in the game's art style, but characters like that haven't always been so popular internationally. Why is Duke an exception?
It's because Duke is a caricature of all that - it's silly! Duke Nukem takes place 12 years after Duke saved the world and he has leveraged that to live like a king. He's walked on the moon, climbed Everest... he's done it all.
The only thing bothering him is that they were supposed to make a video game about him saving the world and it has taken 12 years for them to finish it. I think it's that angle that makes it work internationally because we parody...
145w ago - PlayStation Home Community Manager Locust_Star has announced today that PlayStation Home is adding a suite of new Developer Tools and Tech to the version 1.5 update.
To quote: Today, at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco, we lifted the veil on PlayStation Home's version 1.5, which will be coming to your PS3s in early spring.
The update will introduce a suite of new technology with tools that will enhance your experience with real-time multiplayer, improved physics, as well as more realistic graphics and animations. PlayStation Home v1.5 was developed with one singular goal in mind: high-quality games.
Developers will utilize the improved network mechanics to bolster the multiplayer experience with the fastest action available. With the revamped physics engine, developers will carry more control over physics elements, graphics, rendering and animations, which will translate to more realistic and more intricate game experiences.
This update is significantly different from what you, the PlayStation Home community, have come to expect from past core client updates.
While versions 1.3 and 1.4 brought user-facing features like Voice Chat, Cross Game Invites, Navigation Improvements, In-Store Previews, New Item Types...
To quote: 3.56 Version Spoofer does exactly what it says and can restore back to 3.55 if needed. It was never intended to allow PSN access but to stop the system from updating to 3.56 (I made it shortly after KaKaRoToKS had his false alarm).
Once the PS3 is spoofed it will stay spoofed until it is uninstalled.
