9w ago - Supergiant Games Creative Director Greg Kasavin announced today that Transistor on PS4 is out on May 20th, and also is available to pre-order on PlayStation 4 today.

To quote: On May 20th - that's exactly two weeks from today - Transistor will be available on PlayStation 4! We have a bunch of new details to share, starting with the fact that you can preorder the game starting today, as soon as PlayStation Store updates.

Update: You can now pre-order Transistor on [Register or Login to view links].

Now that the game is almost ready, I wanted to get into some more nitty-gritty details about some of its features.

For starters, Transistor features lots and lots of hand-painted 2D artwork, and thanks to PlayStation 4′s raw power, you'll get to experience it just as we intended in full HD 1080p resolution. That's a first for us on console.

Some months ago I also told you a little about how we're using DualShock 4′s light bar in sync with the voiceover in the game. At the end I hinted we were also looking into using the...

Video: Leaked PlayStation Now Beta Shows UI, Games, Loading & More

350°
10w ago - Following up on the news of Private Beta Invites going out, today some leaked PlayStation Now Beta video footage surfaced which shows the UI, games, loading, a connection test and more below!

To quote from DualShockers (linked above): If you’re not in the PlayStation Now beta (or if you’re not American like me) but want to see what the service looks like, a reader that opted to remain anonymous sent us a real treat in the form of a full fledged video walkthrough of the current beta.

The video starts from the launch of the service and basically goes through everything there’s to see, doing a connection test, browsing the games catalog and even loading and playing a couple games (Puppeteer and Saints Row: The Third). Incidentally It’s also very well made (kudos to the author, really). If it wasn’t recorded off screen it could almost be mistaken for an official trailer.

You can check it out below, but remember that, as you can read at the bottom of the screen, what’s shown in this sneak peek is for testing purposes only, and is not indicative of the final service.

10w ago - Sony Social Media Specialist Ryan Clements is here with the new PlayStation and PSN games for the upcoming week today, as follows:

Home runs, loot drops, couch tournaments, and epic quests dominate the gaming landscape this week in another varied lineup of new games coming to PlayStation.

PlayStation's critically-acclaimed baseball series arrives on PS4 with MLB 14 The Show. With unparalleled visual fidelity, San Diego Studio showcases its dedication and passion to the sport, thanks to achingly accurate stadiums and a broad array of new features.

Harness the new Quick Counts to speed up games for fast, satisfying fixes, or use the new player lock feature to follow a single player all game. Both hardcore baseball devotees and casual fans can find something to love with The Show's latest offering.

For gamers itching for old fashioned couch competition, look no further than Sportsfriends, a collection of wild local multiplayer games coming to PS4 and PS3. Or try out Bound by Flame, one of the first RPGs to hit PS4 with jaw-dropping visuals and hard-as-nails combat.

Video: Alien Trap Games Announces Apotheon is Coming to PS4

50°
10w ago - Continuing with Sony's PS4 news flood, Alien Trap Games Designer Jesse McGibney announced today that Apotheon is coming to PlayStation 4 with a video of it in action below!

To quote: Looking back, making our upcoming action sidescroller Apotheon in the visage of ancient Greek pottery seemed like an obvious choice. Everything is already there.

The 2D perspective, the awesome narrative and setting possibilities, heroes fighting monsters and magical goat-men with no pants... All we really had to do was figure out how to make the art on those pots move around and make it into an interesting game.

That's taken the two of us almost three years now. But we're almost at the end of our long road, and we're super excited to announce our new partnership with PlayStation to help us out and bring our hard work to even more players, as Apotheon will be coming to PS4.

Here's a few things we think will make Apotheon a blast to play with DualShock 4 in hand.

The combat in Apotheon draws mainly from our collective background as multiplayer FPS gamers. We were never much for button-mashy or combo based fighters, which I think have a bit of a stranglehold on 2D action games (especially melee focused...
