60w ago - Borderlands 2 Game Designer Jonathan Hemingway has shared details today on the Mechromancer and Captain Scarlett DLC which arrives on PSN this Tuesday.
To quote: Hey guys, Jonathan from Gearbox here! I was walking around the office the other day and wouldn't you know it – Sir Hammerlock came up to me and handed me a letter and asked if I could share it with you. Here's what he had to say:
Dear Vault Hunters,
I'm well aware of your never-ending thirst for things to shoot and or loot, and I'm positively thrilled to announce some news nestled firmly in that avenue. Not one, but TWO pieces of downloadable content (or "DLC," for the acronym-fond amongst you) for Borderlands 2 will soon be available for your procurement.
Have you ever dreamt about romancing a mech? If so, then you have been greatly misinformed about the new character class DLC. You shall receive the pleasure of playing as Gaige the Mechromancer (she's a mechro-mancer, rather than a mech-romancer, you see - the importance of syllabic emphases can seldom be understated), a spectacularly brilliant prodigy of a girl who uses her robotic friend to slash, punch, and otherwise eviscerate the many fearsome foes of Pandora.
She can also manipulate electricity by invoking the power of science. I also hear...
61w ago - Cyanide Producer Sylvain Sechi has shared a video trailer today announcing that the PS3 action RPG Of Orcs and Men is hitting PSN this Tuesday.
To quote: Hi PlayStation players, this is Sylvain from Cyanide. I'm here to give you an introduction to the world of Greenskins and humans.
Of Orcs and Men is an action RPG, taking place in a dark and mature universe where Greenskins (orcs and goblins) have finally been defeated after a long war against the human kingdom.
The emperor has decided that, in order to prevent any further war against the Greenskins, it's best to just commit full-on genocide - unfortunately for you, you'll be controlling an orc and a goblin.
As the game starts, Arkail (the massive orc) and Styx (the stealthy goblin) are among the last of their race still alive. They are sent on a suicide mission - to reach the land of the humans and assassinate the Emperor, thus stopping the massacre and enslavement of greenskins.
Originally, while playing with the prototype, we enjoyed controlling Styx and Arkail individually, but even more, we liked the combinations they could have. We kept improving features to make them as unique as possible, but we also worked on tandem attacks for use in combat (like throwing...
61w ago - NIS America Marketing Coordinator Ryan Phillips has posted up a fresh video trailer today announcing that Mugen Souls will be hitting the PlayStation 3 this coming Tuesday alongside an NIS America update below.
To quote: I'm dropping by today to briefly talk about our upcoming RPG title Mugen Souls, developed by Idea Factory and Compile Heart.
Mugen Souls is set to release next Tuesday, October 16th, so I'd like to go over a few of the game's awesome features and game mechanics. Afterwards, I'll recap a few of the announcements we made at Tokyo Game Show 2012 a few weeks back. Here we go!
Story-wise, in Mugen Souls you can expect the typical humor and zaniness you've come to expect from NIS America titles. You'll enter a small galaxy in the universe containing seven worlds, shimmering in seven colors... These worlds exist and act independent of one another.
This has allowed them to develop and nurture rich, unique cultures. One day, a decree was sent out... "I'm gonna make everything in each of these worlds bow to me!" This reckless statement came courtesy of the egotistical, yet strangely cute, "Chou-Chou."
61w ago - Sony Social Media Manager Sid Shuman has shared a Retro City Rampage launch trailer video for PS3 and PS Vita today, with the title arriving this Tuesday for fans.
To quote: After months (years?) of anticipation, the big moment is almost here: VBlank Entertainment's long-gestating 8-bit open-world homage Retro City Rampage comes to PS3 and PS Vita tomorrow on PSN, complete with the ever-coveted Cross Buy and Cross Save features.
If you've never heard of Retro City Rampage, a) shame on you and b) I scarcely know where to begin! Imagine jamming all your favorite 8-bit games into a sprawling open world ala Grand Theft Auto and you'll have a rough sense of this game's special brand of pixelated magic.
Retro City Rampage has more than 60 Story missions that span driving, stealth, platforming, shooting, swimming, and questing (just to name a few) as well as 40 Arcade challenges if you're in need of a quick release.
Looking for more numbers? Try these: 25+ weapons and power-ups, 50+ driveable vehicles, and 2.5 hours of glorious chiptune symphonies. And let's not forget what might be the most important number of all: $14.99.
Let's give the freshly released launch trailer a looksee!
